78thealltimegreat Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Over 30 pass rusher yeh he’ll be on the market awhile more then likely till after the draft 1 Quote
Beast Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Floyd had one sack in his last 8 games including the playoffs. We need better. 1 3 Quote
buffaloboyinATL Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Yeah, we will no longer get the “ring chasers” until we prove that we can beat the Chiefs in the playoffs. So this is not a surprise unfortunately. Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted January 25 Posted January 25 We don't get a ton of sack/pressure against the great QBs when it matters. I'm ok with who ever we can afford at this point. Put any money and draft capital into the offense. 1 Quote
FLFan Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Floyd was a great pick up by Beane and he was a key player for the D through 2/3 of the season or so. He had 1 sack in his last 6 games, none in the postseason. (So 1 in 8) That disappearance is concerning if looking at him for a bigger contract. Quote
Paul Costa Posted January 25 Posted January 25 We have 4.5M in dead money left on his one year contract. At what point would it make sense to resign him and not have to eat that dead cap? Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Floyd should be resigned....to playing for another team!! Quote

gjv Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I'll be sorry to see Floyd go. He was our best and most consistent pass rusher this season. Hopefully, Miller will return to form next season and fill that role. Quote
BringBackFergy Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Those sacks (when it didn’t count) were great! C ya 1 Quote

Secondly, he took a one-year "prove it" deal. He proved it. Now a bad team with cap space will overpay. It's the circle of life. I think this is right. He did a nice job for us...let him go get paid. Why should he take a discount to stay here? Quote
Big Turk Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I can't blame him. Players only have but so long to make their money. Quote

BADOLBILZ Posted January 25 Posted January 25 2 hours ago, BillsFanForever19 said: Disagree completely. I think the knock on him last year was he was considered a bit of a bust when he was traded to the Rams. Then he took off. But a lot of people thought it might have just been playing alongside Aaron Donald. So he literally had to sign a "prove it" deal with us. He proved it. His market will be better this year. What narrative about him did he dispel that will make him more attractive? You aren't making sense about the "draft bust" thing being a knock on him coming into his age 31 season. He cleared that "draft bust" notion like 5-6 years ago. He had a hot start to the 2023 season but totally vanished in the last 7 games. That isn't likely to be lost on prospective employers who are generally loathe to pay 32-33 year old non-HOF pass rushers any significant money. A one-word synopsis of what he put on tape during that stretch is "washed". It may be because of injury but it was what it was. I don't see the Bills even giving Floyd another $9M 1 year deal.........but Beane isn't great with the cap so we can't rule it out. Quote
Eastport bills Posted January 25 Posted January 25 A great season for Leonard and I hope it translates into a nice multi year contract. He can’t come back because we have other pressing needs and his asking price will be prohibitive. Another one year deal for a veteran edge guy will be Beane’s answer. Quote
loveorhatembillsfan4life Posted January 25 Posted January 25 What does GM Von have to say? I’d wait until we hear his promises first. Because what Von says… Quote

HurlyBurly51 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 That's fine. He earned his bonus, then disappeared. Maybe someone should sign him to a contract where it takes him 17 games to reach his bonus target🤣 Quote
