DCOrange Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Not sure about order within tiers but probably a top 11 of: Tier 1: Mahomes Josh Lamar Tier 2: Burrow Herbert Stafford Tier 3: Dak Lawrence Cousins Love Stroud Quote

GunnerBill Posted January 25 Posted January 25 10 hours ago, MrEpsYtown said: I think its tiers… Josh Lamar Mahomes and Burrow are their own tier imo. Then it’s Herbert (he’s close to those guys and will get there with Harbaugh) Then its guys like Hurts, Stafford, Dak…Goff had a great year. Then young guys who are on their way, Lawrence, Stroud, Love Then its mid Tua, Purdy, Baker Mayfield… And old guys who were elite Rodgers, Wilson. And old guys who were meh Carr, Cousins etc. All my opinions. Think the tiers are broadly right but the old meh guys are better at this stage than Wilson who is a replacement level starter now. And if either Stroud or Love back it up next season they are jumping that middle group into the Herbert territory. 1 1 Quote
finn Posted January 25 Posted January 25 11 hours ago, MrEpsYtown said: Agreed! I did not want to be too much of a homer! Hey, I agree, too. Make all things equal, and Allen is just plain better than Mahomes. He can do everything Mahomes can do as a passer, and he's a far, far more dangerous runner. No one mentions that for years Mahomes was throwing to the best WR and best TE in the league--behind one of the best lines, executing a scheme designed by the best offensive mind. Frigging Mac Jones would have gone to the Super Bowl in that situation. Not saying Kermit isn't terrific, just that there's no way he's better than Allen, who may end up being the best QB in history, if Beane gives him someone to throw to. 1. Allen, Burrow, Mahomes 2. Stafford, Stroud, maybe the fading Rodgers. 3. Goff, Hurts, Mayfield, Prescott, Lawrence, Love, Herbert, Lamar. (Note: Lamar is unique, but he can't throw nearly as well as the top six. Contain and pressure him (no small task), and he folds like a cheap table. 1 Quote

The Jokeman Posted January 25 Posted January 25 11 hours ago, Patrick Fitzryan said: Anyone who has Jackson over either Burrow or Allen has just bought into media narratives. Not a single GM on earth, including Baltimore's, is taking Lamar over either of those guys. I agree except Burrow hasn't shown that he can stay healthy which is something Lamar had against him the last two seasons but this year he actually did. That said if I was starting a team and had to chose between the two I'd go Burrow as to me you need to be able to pass to win and well Lamar is an average at best passing QB. Quote
dave mcbride Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Surprised about the fact that there’s very little love here for Goff. I think he’s evolved into a damn good quarterback who seems to almost alway make the right throw. Plus he’s accurate. But don’t listen to me; listen to Fred Warner: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/fred-warner-jared-goff-the-reason-lions-are-where-they-are-now 1 Quote
Niagara Dude Posted January 25 Posted January 25 13 hours ago, 78thealltimegreat said: There isn’t a right or wrong answer just was curious as the top 4 seems pretty set in stone Patrick Josh Lamar Joey B after that you can throw names in a hat Id go Matt Stafford Dak Prescott Justin Herbert Jalen Hurts Aaron Rogers I think it's Patrick/Lamar/Joe/Allen/Herbert and Herbert could easily pass Allen next season because he has Harbaugh and Allen has some guy that believes running the ball is how you win. End of the day Allen is most talented but being stuck with McDermott has limited his success and will continue to do so 1 Quote

He has basically effectively missed two seasons in five years: a full season (2020) and another season where he started out hampered by injury and then went down halfway through and was out for the stretch run (2023). hellofellowbillsfans Posted January 25 Posted January 25 13 hours ago, Ya Digg? said: So it’s not that I don’t see it at times with the eye test, but I continue to question why Herbert gets ranked so highly and how he continues to evade criticism. Made it to the playoffs once, where they choked away a huge lead. Has come into the past 3 seasons with very high expectations and hasn’t delivered. Sure his team has dealt with injuries but what team (outside of KC) hasn’t? It seems people continue to judge other QBs on production while he still gets judged on potential. Would he be in my top 10 yes, but for me he’s closer to 10 than to 5 agreed 100%. Herbert has all the tools but doesn't seem to have the 'it' factor that other elite QBs have Quote

zow2 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Mahomes is the best Quarterback in the world. Throwing the football, accuracy, pocket presence, being clutch.... he is the best. Josh is the best overall football player in the league at this moment. Leader, Runner, trucking people, creating amazing throws.. not the best pocket passer imo. Lamar is like a scat back playing QB, super elusive when he wants to be.. not an awesome pocket passer by any means but can certainly sling it w accuracy at times. Quote
