Weirdo but great hire for them. He gets to retire in SoCal and people make care about that irrelevant team. Herbert’s stats are going to drop big time but that could be a dangerous team pretty soon.

Insane decision for him. His ego overran his common sense. He could have taken a ***** on the Dean's car at Michigan and they would have built him a statue all while cutting him a $125M check. Instead, he take a super high turnover job where his image as infallible will be questioned week to week by national reporters.

That said, it's an incredibly strong roster, so maybe he skates to a Super Bowl and retires as the greatest football coach ever.

Interesting

Conceivably makes Pattys job harder in the division

Hopefully but I can’t imagine a worst chiefs offense than this year. They were so beatable. 😞

That team is an instant contender. You don't play for him and lack discipline. That team was pillow soft. They will be aggressive, physical, and disciplined on both sides. Herbert will get a rushing game. My only spec of happiness in this is it will strengthen the west.

Harbaugh is the guy who helped coach Kaepernick to a super bowl and another NFC championship. McDermott cannot have such success with a much better QB in Allen. The AFC just got harder while Pegula does nothing.

Maybe drafting another corner who doesn't play (Elam) in the first round or another defensive lineman in the first round who cannot sack Mahomes once in multiple playoff games (see Oliver, Rousseau, etc) will get us over the top! Just trust the process and McClappy......Nothing to worry about at all...

Actually predicted this one correctly … (and got others wrong) …

I expect him to be successful … some people are worried about their cap but I don’t think that will slow him down much …

Good hire for the Chargers but people thinking this somehow makes them a Super Bowl favorite he literally went 8 years at Michigan without winning a bowl game till this year.

He doesn't have to build a team, he already starts with arguably the best QB he has ever had (Luck wasn't fully developed as a sophomore). That's huge.

and if you think mcdermott is out coaching this guy in a playoff game you must have lost your damn mind

Dude he got jobbed by his brother in the Super Bowl and did nothing much else. Come on.

I think Harbaugh is a better coach than McDermott but you are acting like he’s won multiple SBs or something. He got worked by Pete Carroll a bunch of times.

They split their regular season matchups and he owned him in college. The dude wins everywhere he goes and that's not debatable.

They lost by 3 points lol did everyone just hallucinate? 3 NFC championships in 4 years is pretty good. Especially when you consider the Seahawks were monsters around that time.
