I think most on this board understand, and are even in favor, of a very heavy defensive draft given our needs on that side of the ball. I also agree with going Safety->DT->DE. Heck, I'd say Safety->DT->DE->Safety->DB->DT. After our WR pick tho. I’m fine going defense the remainder of the draft as long as we go WR with round 1. I actually think we are pretty set at CB. But we will need some safety and DL help. If Milano is back healthy we are set at LB as well (Aside from depth) I think going WR early is a no brainer. Davis will be gone. Diggs is likely on decline. Shakir is coming on. Diggs/Shakir/Kincaid should be enough for passing attack first half of season while the rookie WR adjusts and starts coming on 2nd half. Quote

If we’re up against a board that has 7-8 WRs go ahead of us, you don’t take the 9th best guy because you need one. You go get a premier talent at another position of need, and address wide out at a time when the selection more appropriately matches the draft slot. That, or move up and get your guy! I just don’t want to see them panic pick and have another Elam situation Oh, you know Beane will panic and move up for a guy. He does it every year. 1 Quote

Shakir can, he's going to be a stud. Harty was supposed to be the guy, maybe Shorter can work out But adding a legit WR would make this O phenomenal. Diggs,Shakir,Kincaid, Knox, FA WR, rookie WR Quote

billsfan714 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Seems to me KC traded away a no. 1 WR, didnt draft 1 in the first and rebuilt their defense and are going to the SB, again. Quote

First pick should be WR. 2nd and 3rd picks should probably be safety and DL. Fourth I’d go WR again. We need weapons to fill out our room. Sherfield and Davis are gone, Harty will be cut. Isabella cannot be our 3rd WR. We need an infusion of young, fast talent. Quote

Because our WRs dropped perfect long balls from Josh and got no separation all game. Our defense fails every post season regardless, especially against the Chiefs. Make the offense fail-proof. Stack Josh with weapons & linemen and he'll win it all for us. Everything else is incidental 1 Quote

Please read the article first, then discuss. IMO, we take 2 WRs in this draft... 1st Round and TBD round. The REST can go to DEF. This draft is DEEP at WR, BUT we need a potential #1. So our first pick should be a WR. Now, if there is STILL another 1st round grade WR close to our 2nd round pick... we go and get him. THEN all the rest DEF. IF no #1 grade WR in round 2... wait till the 4th round. Quote

colin Posted January 30 Posted January 30 i think we get a wr in teh 1st, and a trade up is likely, maybe even a big one. i think we might get a big body running back, maybe a c if one is a value, and the rest of the picks will likely fill out holes in the d. i figure we'll have like 7 or 8 picks to spend on D, we should be able to get 5 or even 6 contributing players at S and DT/DE with those. any position needed we can fill in w cheapo guys like we did with shak, phillips, ford, etc Quote
KOKBILLS Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The Bills should have 10 picks going into the 2024 Draft, and if they keep all of them I could easily see them going 7 Defense to 3 Offense... They desperately need to get younger on the Defensive side. However, I think 2 of the first 4 picks will be Offense, and both of those will be WR's... We'll see though... Quote

The Ravens would’ve beat the Chiefs by a good margin if they had the Bills offensive output. I feel like LB and especially Safety are still big needs. I would go WR in the 1st for sure, but Beane needs to add BPA at a position of need on defense in the 2nd. They still lack super stars on that side of the ball. Quote
