BCAS Baritone Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Quote Thirty-five defensive players logged at least 10 snaps for the Bills and Chiefs on Sunday. Seven of the eight oldest played for Buffalo: Linval Joseph (35), Von Miller (34), Micah Hyde (33), Jordan Poyer (32), A.J. Klein (32), DaQuan Jones (32) and Leonard Floyd (31). https://theathletic.com/5215245/2024/01/22/chiefs-bills-nfl-divisional-playoffs-ravens-lions/ Pretty telling statistic Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted January 23 Posted January 23 All free agents but Poyer saves 6 million with a release. Also worth pointing out, those old guys were the only guys who stayed healthy. Benford, Bernard, Dodson, White, Milano all under 30. Quote
Nephilim17 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Notable defensive players who are 26 or younger: Elam: 22. Yes, he's not a starter but he's only 22. Maybe he can mature and turn it around. Dorian Williams: 22. Maybe in 2 or 3 years he can replace Milano and in the meantime be a higher-level backup. Benford: 23 Rousseau: 23 Bernard: 24 Oliver: 26 If we Elam can either turn into a starter or we draft a CB that can and a safety, I don't mind a veteran safety from the free-agent market. I think we're set for a while at LB. On the D-line, it would be nice to draft another starting tackle or end. And I'm good with paying Floyd (if the price is right) for one more year. Fine with 32-year-old Jones playing DT another year or maybe two. I know it looks bad, especially paying a 34-year-old what Von gets, but not in a horrible place if we can draft about 3 more starters in the next couple years. Quote
