Joe Ferguson forever Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Pretty big deal. Who will get it, why or why not, when it becomes widely available? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/alzheimers-diagnosis-treatment-blood-test-b2482854.html Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Just lost my wife’s grandfather to that disease, it’s sad to see how stress can rapidly trigger its progression. Quote
Joe Ferguson forever Posted January 25, 2024 Author Posted January 25, 2024 i think it's a no brainer to get the test. we have some decent but not great drugs. they may work better at an earlier stage and the test can detect the disease 20 years before symptoms begin. hope it comes out soon. Quote
Irv Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 My whole family has had it. My mom died from it. Grandmother died from it. I'd like to take that test to plan for my future/finances. 1 Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Rare... But it's also transmissable from one person to another: https://www.livescience.com/health/alzheimers-dementia/alzheimers-is-transmissible-in-extremely-rare-scenarios 1 1 Quote
