Tyler bass didn’t lose this game. From the first snap mistakes were made from Diggs fumbling. To the last drive with Diggs dropping a huge pass, Josh fumbling with 5 mins left and then missing Shakir in the back of the end zone. this is another game of missed opportunities. Blame who you want. There’s plenty to go around another year of this staff providing Allen with pure **** at WR. 1 Quote

I’d bring poyer back at reduced role and money. Knox will take a paycut to stay here. I’m not making any cuts to the O Line. So $70m of that $100m is easy decisions. Diggs and Miller potentially free up cap space in 2024 if you push dead money to 2025. We are in drastically better shape heading into the off-season than it looked like 2 months ago. Quote
msw2112 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Young guys like Bernard, Benford, Cook, Shakir, Torrence, and Kincaid (listed in no particular order) definitely make it look like they can continue to be one of the better teams while they move on from some of the more expensive veterans. Dorian Williams also looks like he has some potential to improve as he adjusts to the NFL level of play. It doesn't take the sting out of the loss, but at least provides some hope that there will be talent on the roster other than Josh Allen. 1 Quote

Blame who you want. There’s plenty to go around I disagree. The losses have had a common theme starting with the Houston playoff game: Poor defensive play either throughout the game (yesterday, Bengals playoff loss & the 2020 AFC championship game) or at critical times in the game (13 seconds game, Houston game). Don't forget we were lucky to beat Indy in 2020 after the D gave up two 4th quarter TD's in a game Buffalo led 24 - 10 early in the 4th. So yes there is a pattern here that can be laid at the feet of the coach, GM and the defense. I include the GM because even though the Bills have one of the top 3 QB's in the NFL they have not addressed glaring weaknesses on offense and have not worked to surround Allen with the best possible weapons. 9 minutes ago, JaCrispy said: I blame McD for trading Mahomes to KC…Even if we were to fire our HC, that one mistake would still haunt us until the end of Josh’s career… Yea and then Andy Reid drafts Allen a year later and we're exactly in the same boat as we are today. 1 Quote

Not if the Bills simply don’t trade the pick in conference to the Chiefs- Bills could still get Allen the following year, if they still chose not to draft Mahomes… But if the Bills did draft Mahomes, then Arizona likely drafts Allen in 2018 because then they wouldn’t have us to compete with… Chiefs made the playoffs with Alex Smith in 2017, so they likely would not have had the ammo to compete with the Cardinals who, I believe were top 12 in the 2018 draft… The issue is not that the Bills didn’t draft Mahomes…The issue is that McD allowed a conference rival to trade up and draft him, likely because he was friends with Reid…I’m sure other teams wanted to trade with us, but McD chose the chiefs, when it should have been out of conference if he wanted to work a trade… Edited January 22 by JaCrispy Quote
