Nklaiste1 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Probably not likely but any chance we could hire Harbaugh? Quote

The plays were there to be made, and the players didn't make them. I was stressed on the final drive, as were we all, but the strategy was sound. It almost worked. It SHOULD have worked. Take Diggs underneath on 2nd and 9, choke KC to death with no time left on the clock for the reprisal TD. It was his best option, and I wish Allen had taken it. If you take the 30-yard shot there, it needs to be perfect. He just needed to get the ball in the neighborhood of Diggs, and that's a first down with the clock still running. Brady understood this. Manning understood this. The old guard has commented on the current crop of QBs looking for the big highlight plays and not taking what's there for them to take. It continues to hold true. I don't blame the loss on Allen. He played a hell of a game. There were plenty of things that could have gone differently to make the last few minutes of the game play out differently. That was his moment to keep slowly driving the dagger in, though, and he went for the quick strike that would leave Patrick Mahomes 1:55 on the clock with 2 TOs and 4-down territory the whole way down the field. Brady or Manning take Diggs on the crosser, there. I wish Allen could do the same. This is the problem though. Allen was pretty much perfect all game. He made one mistake going for the jugular, bad decision and he couldn’t get the throw there. One mistake from him in an otherwise flawless game and we can’t overcome it. Coaches can’t help him out.. players don’t pick him up.. Yet Mahomes misses guys open in the end zone twice on the same drive and they fumble the ball out of the end zone …. And win. 3 1 Quote

GETTOTHE50 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 He’s not going to get fired unless next year is the same result. he deserves another chance for seeing the mistake Dorsey was and firing him. he and joe finally developed a run game. he deserves one more year with a slightly different core. After all, the players have to make the plays at the end of the day. Quote
DapperCam Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I don’t think he has what it takes to win the Super Bowl. He also has enough success to not be fired (thanks to Josh Allen mostly). Biggest indictment for me, is that his defenses perform poorly in the playoffs. That is supposed to be his entire thing, and they have performed poorly over multiple playoffs. 1 Quote
GETTOTHE50 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I also think Brady is next in line to be the head coach if McD can’t deliver the Super Bowl next year Quote

The fact remains that Andy Reid wasn’t winning the eagles a Super Bowl. Someone else did. Dungy wasn’t winning the Bucs a superbowl but someone else did. Sometimes people are only meant to take you so far. Andy Reid was fantastic for the Eagles but eventually when you hit the same brick wall over and over, year after year you start to lose the players and when he lost the players the last couple of years with the eagles were AWFUL. How many times can we run into the same Chiefs buzzsaw and not lose our players? Quote

Yeah, he needed more help from his skill players. Given the circumstances, he needed that flawless finishing drive. He didn't deliver it. Brady and Manning in their prime deliver it. Allen goes for the big play. Allen is nearly impossible to defend when he's in the zone, and I'm beyond thankful the Bills have him. That doesn't change that he had the opportunity to seal the game and didn't deliver. He is far from alone in that from this game. But he's on the couch with the rest of us, now. Quote
Nklaiste1 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I say yes but only if we can hire the right guy to replace him. (For example Harbaugh). Quote

But here we are hitting the same wall EVERY year and we are trying to talk ourselves out of the wall existing Edited January 22 by Chugga 1 Quote

HappyDays Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Congratulations Sean McDermott on breaking yet another NFL record in a loss. Something similar happened in the Eagles game if I recall correctly. Our head coach finds new and exciting ways to lose games. 1 3 Quote

Don’t let facts get in the way of an argument. If we follow his rationale, the Bills should fire McD, fire the coach who replaces him and then maybe we’ll win a SB with the coach after that 5 years after letting McD go. Geez that makes sense.
