BBFL Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Jesus. Why are some fans not happy that he’s actually contributed after all the shenanigans this year… especially given his return to action is a playoff game. Is there another reason we don’t know about regarding his lack of playing time? Probably. Has he had some bad play when out there? Sure. But watching that whole second half and focusing on him alone, he played very well. Both sides of the field, inside and out. Was eager and willing to contain the edge and tackle when need be, was pretty sound in coverage albeit 2 routes he covered in the 4th (ball didn’t go his way regardless). Why can’t we just sing him some praise instead of wanting him back riding the pine. 3 1 1 Quote

I imagine it will depend largely on who we intend to bring back or sign. I'd love to keep White around but given he's likely not the starter week one next season and possibly not even after he's fully recovered it's hard to justify 16 million for someone who has played 34 of the last 67 games. Maybe there's a restructure that makes everyone happy. From Sportstrac it says post 6/1 2024 Dead Cap: $6,234,918 2025 Dead Cap: $4,134,918 2024 Cap Savings: $10,208,819 The way I see it, the decision is to eat $10m to save $22m or pay him $32m over the next two seasons. bigK14094 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Johnson has a concussion. that recovery is unpredictable. Elam may see major time.. The dead cap isn’t an issue because you’re starters are already on the roster and accounted for. Any cap savings from White is a plus. Post June 1 cut saves $10 million. Two major injuries in three years. Can't keep white for that reason now, next year will be his rehab year. He gets cut, and not just because of the money. Perhaps someone else will take a chance, but he could end up back with a min contract. Never know. Quote
