LeGOATski Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I always love the way Tomlin's teams play. He's very much like McDermott. Sticks to the process, always looking to get better. Give him a franchise QB and he's always going to be contending. 1 1 Quote

Tomlin blew the end of the first half, but his team did a lot for having such a large talent deficit even before taking their best player in watt away They lost by 14 points. So if Tomlin was on McD’s level, are we arguing they would have lost by 40? Quote

Wizard Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Bad take as others have said. Yes, Tomlin does not have a recent playoff victory. His team got beat, but he has lesser talent and got 10 wins. He has been a solid coach and has championships. Not the guy to make fun of. 3 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Bills player talent out-shined the Steelers coaching. Simple as that. Still saw plenty of mistakes in situational football from our own staff. But we have Superman at QB and that's what matters most in this league. Kudos to Tomlin for coaching up a sad sack roster to squeak into this game. More kudos for figuring out a way to get it to a 7 point game toward the end. 5 2 Quote

So you want to review the 2016-2020? He lost to Tom Brady in a AFC Championship game. I don't know what your point is here. He hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016 my man. Yet he’s talked about like this total superior coach to McD, and there he goes, going home again. 1 Quote

billsfan714 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 If you look at a teams floor and ceiling, I would say Tomlin coached them to their ceiling. 3 Quote

They won't draft high enough to get a solid one with Tomlin giving them a winning record out of mediocre talent. No coach or player decides they want to tank. There's too much on the line for their resume That's a front office choice. Things will likely need to get worse before they get better. And we know how bad that can be. Quote
nedboy7 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Already got 2 "we need to fire Tomlin" texts from squealer friends. Edited January 16 by nedboy7 Quote

Please don't compare aging Ben to Josh. McD has one divisional win in his career. Tomlin has 2 AFC championships, 3 division wins, and a Super Bowl. Edited January 16 by Mikie2times 3 1 Quote

McD has how many playoff wins? It’s very cool that he won a Super Bowl when a plucky Senator from Chicago ran for President, but Mason Rudolph was still using coloring books at home at that time. Does nothing for the guys currently. Quote

We were drafting 21 & 22 & made it up to #7. Many around here couldn't imagine getting up to 7 from 21, but Beane found a way and got a little lucky because nobody took Josh in the top 6. If Pittsburgh wants to they could package a combination of players & pick to move way up. However, it takes guts & a conviction that you are drafting the right franchise QB. 2 1 Quote
