newcam2012 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) I really enjoyed Romo's commentary today. Early he spotted a Bill's defensive coverage stop, really gave Allen his flowers, talked about how Pitt was getting momentum and it was nervous time for Buffalo. His enthusiasm was really good. The only thing I disagreed with was the Hyde and Poyer comments. Overall, he did an outstanding job. I kind of get the feeling he's secretly cheering for the Bills. CSBill Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I have always been a Romo fan. He brings some personality and honesty to the process without taking himself too seriously. 4 1 5 1 Quote
wjag Posted January 16 Posted January 16 He was spot on about not throwing it before the first half 2m warning. 3 14 Quote

I'm sure everyone at CBS would rather broadcast a game with Mahomes vs Allen than Mahomes vs Rudolph. Edit: The CBS game would be on Sunday night no matter what. Since the winner of Bills/Pittsburgh had to play on Sunday, if Pittsburgh had won it would have been Pittsburgh at Baltimore with Rudolph vs Jackson. Then the Houston at KC would have been on Saturday night on ABC. Edited January 16 by Albany,n.y. 1 Quote

The combo of Romo and Nantz are my top commentary team. I guess people just got annoyed listening to Romo but I’d much rather hear him over that tool Chris Collingsworth any day. I’m also a big fan of Kevin Harlan and Trent Green. I remember Harlan was one of the lower ranking teams and he always drew Bills games during the end of the drought. He made those game fun. 9 6 3 Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) He talks a lot. I can do without the “That could be the play of the game, Jim!” on like an incompletion on 2&5 in the first quarter. I’ll take him over talk-laughing Aikman and Colinsworth. And I do like that Romo messes with Nantz and is always right on top of his silly jokes. Tonight, Nantz was waxing on The Shining, which was nice. Edited January 17 by Thrivefourfive 3 1 Quote

I noticed that the NFL on CBS twitter account shared a clip where Romo said “The Bills just might still win the AFC East.” They promoted it as though he predicted them winning it, so he’s probably just routing for his take Quote

I don’t understand the recent criticisms of him. He offers actual x and o analysis— probably the only guy that does so. 3 Quote

BBFL Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Every game he commentates he praises Josh non stop. He gets it as a former QB. He actually praises every QB when he is on the broadcast and points out errors. He’s one of the few I can listen to intently to or still have on in the background to describe what’s going on. Enjoyable. Edited January 16 by BBFL 4 Quote
Steptide Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I like Romo and natz alot. Romo says "run it back" alot though after plays Quote
H2o Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Just wait until next week when Mahomes is our opposing QB. He will be insufferable again. 1 2 Quote

He did a good job but I almost threw up in my mouth when he celebrated our coaching staff at the end of the game. Good win but the game should’ve been over much sooner if Joe Brady ran the dang ball and didn’t take that quarter and a half break 2 Quote
