Fake Slide should be 15 yard penalty

Calling what Allen did “blatant” is a stretch imho—now compare that with the Mahomes clip above, and tell me that’s the same thing?!

This is essentially what happened, in that moment it was like oh there's defenders about to be around Josh should probably just slide that makes the most sense. But in the back of your mind you know it's Josh and the Playoffs he's not going to slide.

 

Then Josh's running style which isn't predicated on being able to juke people in a phone booth but making moves further away to get them to take bad angles and using surprising long speed, acceleration and being a ***** truck to just burn them.

 

So I understand if some Steelers defenders made a ***** mistake, but Josh didn't fake slide.

I vote him off the island.  That was an epically bad take on his part.  I've watched that tape over and over again and there wasn't even a hint of Allen faking a slide  We've seen him take this run up the gut over and over again throughout his career and he ran exactly how he runs them all - using a stutter step to freeze the tackler.  The fact is the safety bounced off Allen trying to make the tackle.

 

This guy was just pissed that his Chiefs actually have to win a road playoff game in the AFC.

Do you believe that when Allen fakes a throw past the line of scrimmage they should flag him for illegal forward pass?

 

I get that you're pissed that the Chiefs have to finally go on the road in an AFC playoff game but that was not a fake slide.  Not even close to one.  And to claim it was "blatant" is astonishing to me.

What a loser, and all the false starts and holding ignored on your offense and defense should be called instead of turning their heads and ignoring it to help out the league poster boy who would not have made the playoffs without officiating help. A shake from side to side is not a fake slide.

Great. Look man, I normally don’t have any issues at all with your posts and appreciate your contributions as a Chiefs fan to this board, you’ve been around awhile—but this is not the hill to die on. Coming to the board to lecture/troll us about the nuances of Josh’s supposed sliding shenanigans is over the top, especially right after a hard fought win where he played like the lion dog that he is. Let us enjoy this for 24 hours, and then we can all go back to good natured back and forth leading into the game. Fair enough?

The defender bounced off of Allen while trying to tackle him , usually theres no tackle at all if they see a slide let alone a "fake" one
