Last Kid Picked Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Dol-Fan Forum After much effort and discussion, the Miami Dolphins have decided to remove the Message Boards feature from MiamiDolphins.com. We can no longer effectively manage these fan forums and present a product that is fan friendly and promotes a family environment, both important qualities of our organization and goals of our web site. The message boards have been a web site feature since the 2000 season, but we have encountered a wide range of problems. They include trolls, sexual innuendos, indecent language, personal attacks on posters, inappropriate topics, and others. We have done our best to delete posts that violate our code of conduct and warn or ban the user who posted them upon their discovery. Unfortunately, the volume of problems is such that we feel like we can better use our time by creating and providing quality content that will keep fans like yourselves returning to MiamiDolphins.com. We appreciate your support of the Miami Dolphins.

The Avenger Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 This is exactly how TSW came to be - message boards run by an organization (in our case, the Rochester D&C) that can not invest the time and effort to moderate them effectively. Scott stepped in and we have this place. Makes you appreciate all the time and effort people like SDS and the moderators spend ensuring we have a home!

TheMadCap Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 The same thing happened last year to the Panthers MB on their main site...
Buffal0 Bill5 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 They include trolls, sexual innuendos, indecent language, personal attacks on posters, inappropriate topics, and others. So what was the problem?
Albany,n.y. Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 They include trolls, sexual innuendos, indecent language, personal attacks on posters, inappropriate topics, and others. So what was the problem? 356467[/snapback] The problem was the posts were describing the latest Dolphin player's arrest. Can't have the Dolphins' records exposed on a family oriented website.
