Either he resigns with a massive long term deal or he walks. Something tells me this is a way for him to get maximum money from the Rooneys. Why else leak this? Or has he tired of not having a QB in Pittsburgh and wants to coach an elite QB somewhere else? Edited January 14 by MarkKelso'sHelmet Formatting Quote
Ray Stonada Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I like Tomlin but let’s end his tenure with a blowout. 3 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I have no issues with Tomlin other than he is a horrible game time manager. His favorite player is the punter. 1 1 1 Quote

This may or may not have anything to do with money. Wouldn't shock me too much if he walked away. Took a year off and joined one of the Sunday morning shows like Sean Payton did, then came back the following year with his choice of jobs. He's really got nothing left to prove in Pittsburgh. 2 Quote

Coffeesforclosers Posted January 14 Posted January 14 51 years old, has won a Lombardi, has never had a losing season, 17 years of HC experience. If he leaves, he'll be unemployed for as long as it takes his agent to answer the phone. 1 7 2 Quote

Listen to the man speak. He's an idiot. A real "football guy". His record speaks for itself; not sure how exactly he's accomplished it...but then again...it's really NOT that good if you study what he's done. Always pretty solid but nothing close to championship level is not really what I'm after; we already have that with McDimwit. 1 3 3 3 Quote

That could certainly happen, but I suspect Pittsburgh is gonna make him an offer that would be hard to turn down, jmo. 1 Quote

I'm sure they will. They would be dumb not to and the Steelers organization has never been dumb. Wouldn't shock me if they announced an extension either. But he would be a HOT commodity on the open market. Pittsburgh will need to go big. Quote
Straight Hucklebuck Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Florio has been shipping this story so hard dude. Each coaching cycle has 5-6 guys canned every year, and you’re dying to get rid of a guy who has never had a losing season? I just don’t see it. 1 Quote

I suspect this is how you will continue to talk about McD even if he wins a SB. 1 Quote

Absolutely true, Tomlin would get scooped up near instantly by another team, sure glad we won’t see him in the AFCE twice or more every year, 1 Quote

I don’t think that he’s in a highest bidder situation so much as is he still excited/enjoying. A big offer would be great but I suspect giving him a true blank check book for assistants, etc… maybe some upgrades in facilities and such… might get him more than an extra couple bucks Quote

JK Fan Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Florio is pushing this story and he is not someone I put a lot of stock in. It would shock me if Tomlin goes anywhere. Quote
