Saxum Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) https://abcnews.go.com/US/justice-department-pursue-death-penalty-buffalo-supermarket-shooter/story?id=106322955 Quote The Justice Department said Friday in a court filing it will seek the death penalty for Payton Gendron, the then-19-year-old who killed 10 people in a racially motivated shooting at a Tops Supermarket in Buffalo, New York, in May 2022. "United States believes the circumstances in Counts 11-20 of the Indictment are such that, in the event of a conviction, a sentence of death is justified," the filing said. Gendron intentionally killed Roberta Drury, Pearl Young, Hayward Patterson, Ruth Whitfield, Celestine Chaney, Aaron W Salter Jr., Andre Mackniel, Marcus Morrison, Katherine Massey Geraldine Talley. WhoTom Posted January 12 Posted January 12 If you gave me a choice between dying and spending the rest of my life in a maximum security prison with no chance of parole, I'd choose death. I'd rather see him get life without parole, so he can spend a long time regretting his actions. 4 1 Quote

He will most likely be protected by the white gangs. Prison is pretty much divided by race. He’s a hero to them. He may get some beatings here or there. But for most part he will be protected by the gang. He was isolated for a decent amount of time as well. Edited January 13 by Not at the table Karlos 1 Quote

Nice job in calling out the killer's name. He needs no more recognition. Quote

boater Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I like watching the death penalty flip-floppers. "The penalty is immoral and must be stopped.... except just this one time, for this one guy" Quote

Their job is to keep inmates locked up and alive. Dylan roof is still alive. He goes into protective custody and locked down 23 of 24 hours a day and has no contact with other inmates Quote

He was executed in June, 2001, just six years after the bombing. The victims' families and the survivors have lived with the horrors of McVeigh's act for almost 30 years. Quote
