I’ve never even seen it in real life. I’ve done a lot of stupid ***** too. Just never crossed paths with it. Plus, I am a generally (diagnosed) anxious. I imagine doing a line would send me in the wrong direction.

plus I’m old now.

I tried it once in college (early 80s.) I bought just enough for one evening (two lines maybe) and realized that for the money I spent, I could have bought a bag of weed that would last a week, so I decided I'd never buy it again. I did indulge a couple of times when a friend offered it, but after the Len Bias incident, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. He was just a few weeks younger than me. (Google it if you're too young to recognize the name.)

Never did it, buddy of mine did and thought he was going to have a heart attack so that scared me off.   I do have a interesting story about selling the stuff though.   An ex-gf of mine her cousin used to make beer runs for a distributor in Florida.  Wont say where, but it wasn't Miami.  Someone approached him about making deliveries to bars on his route.  This was the early 80s.   He made a ton of money doing that for years and put it all away.  He later bought a few businesses, got out of the other "business" and is a multi millionaire now.

I can't feel my face, ya dig?

Every home of every Chuck E Cheese employee was inspected and photographed for comparison purposes once this picture got out.

Had a long weekend in Miami for a bills game maybe six years ago … my buddy who bartends at a resort down there had a bag that he said washed up on the beach after a DEA pursuit of smugglers (this does happen) … we partook liberally, golfed, partied and slept maybe four hours over six days … honestly, we had a great trip. Certainly wouldn’t condone regular usage though.

I dabbled(maybe 4-5 times total?) in my early 20s but it was usually just a circumstance of it being there.  I never went out looking for it.  Definitely wouldn't touch the stuff at this stage in life

You aren't missing anything.

Cocaine only has two effects on you. It either makes you want more, or it makes you want less; there is no Goldilocks zone, imo.

Now I will expose myself as a degenerate:

A buddy of mine cooked some up and talked me into trying crack. That shlt is delicious and I can absolutely see how people can become quickly addicted.

It's the kind of drug that is soooo good that I will never do it again.

I've ripped many a line of FARTS, most recently this morning in the bathroom.

In regards tp the Rick James photo, I went to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo  and took the tour. I, as many others probably couldn't resist, said those words at his grave.

I had a roommate in college who went home one weekend for his brother’s birthday, and then came back to school bragging about how he did “smokable cocaine” all night long with his buds.  I think it took him all semester to shake that one.  😆

I had a close friend through high school and beyond.

The last conversation we had was sitting at a bar and he told me how he enjoyed crack.

I urged him not to mess with it and he assured me that he only did it once in a while and it was not addictive.

We were in our early 20s.

It wasn’t long after that conversation that he died by suicide.

Sorry about your brother.

The instant it wears off, your brain involuntarily bends all its will toward doing it again and will be satisfied with nothing less. Totally irresistible.

I won't mess with the big H but I've got to believe it's not entirely dissimilar. A massive, instantaneous rush of total well-being in every cell of your body before you've even exhaled, unfortunately followed about 20-30 minutes later by an irresistible, all-consuming desire to feel that again, which then takes far longer to dissipate than the high itself. Heaven and hell, all in one breath.

Artie Lange said something along the lines of 'The best part of doing coke is going to get it. The worst part is running out.

Accurate.

I had the exact same experience with crack.  Tried it once, amazing.  And never again.

Coke nights were a lot of fun and go well with heavy drinking.  Working in bars/restaurants for so long it seemed to be the normal lifestyle.

probably the substances I enjoyed the most were ecstasy followed by acid/mushrooms.

Now I don’t even drink coffee!  Tea is as extreme as I get!

In my 20’s we used to hang out with a bunch of good old boys who grew up hunting and fishing in the lowcountry around Hilton Head. These were intelligent, successful people, including a lawyer, a builder and a CPA. They are out shrimp baiting one night and see a bale of something floating in the Sound. It was coke, and they sold it to some guy they knew of for a quick buck. Easy money!

Fast forward a few years and the CPA is now married with children, and he’s bought a business from one of his clients who was tired of making money. He’s earning 7 figures (back in the 80’s), and he’s been using that income to fight his legal battles over being a drug dealer. It dragged on forever, but he eventually left his family to spend a few years in the Big House. OUCH! The marriage did not survive.

Same guys, another night. They see a cute little head in the big Calibogue Sound swimming towards an island fighting against an outgoing tide. They figure what the heck, let’s help that little thing out before it gets carried out into the Atlantic. They throw a shrimp net out, it clings on and they head for the island. The bobcat starts climbing forward on the net. It’s much bigger than they realized. It jumps into the boat, and there is pure panic, as the bobcat does not like having people in his boat. They end up beating it to death with oars. They started with such good intentions! 😂

These guy should stick to the land.

Never tried blow. One time, this guy offered me a joint. What he didn't tell me is that it was laced with Heroin. When I found out, I dove head first out of the driver's window of a Camero (while sitting in the back seat), got in my car, and drove to Niagara Falls from East Aurora. When I was getting gas, I went to the attendant and asked "How did I get here"?
