Gregg Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Mike Garafolo on X: "Meanwhile, the #Giants have not begun a search for a new defensive coordinator and don't plan to do so as of right now, sources say. They want Wink Martindale to be their DC unless and until he resigns. So the standoff continues." / X (twitter.com) Quote
Coach Tuesday Posted January 10 Posted January 10 He's out officially. I would expect Babich to be on the short list of DC candidates there. Quote
BigAl2526 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I can't see McDermott hiring a defensive coordinator whose philosophy and scheme on defense is so different from his own. I think McDermott believes strongly in his defensive philosophy and scheme. Quote
PBF81 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Our focus should first and foremost be to get an OC that is capable of turning Allen into all that he can be. This ongoing scoring regression from 31.3 PPG in '20, to 28.4 PPG in '21 & '22, to 26.5 PPG this season, and 26.0 PPG under Brady ain't cuttin' it. Especially since we've had our best OL and finally a bona fide receiving TE in addition to other WRs that have been here for several seasons. Including Diggs whose production has plummeted since Brady took the reigns. We all know the arguments, but the reality is that a truly good OC should be able to get more than that and have all cylinders, not simply the "complimentary football" (aka Support the D) cylinders firing. What's next, a drop to 25 PPG next season with what is likely to be a tougher schedule. 1 Quote
