I would have waited to make a decision.  They are still not very good at predicting lake effects. If it turns out ok Sunday it will be an embarrassment.

still going to be very windy which would ruin the game

This might have had some merit if it were the NFL's decision, but it was the governor who made it. The Missouri governor felt differently apparently, and there is also not a travel ban in KC AFAIK.

Excuse me? They are pretty excellent actually. As long as you know where to get your info from.

No I'm not but overall I think the points stands: the KC game is uncomfortable. Sunday in Buffalo looks unwatchable at present

Forget unwatchable. Hundreds would have died attempting to get to the game.

The funny thing is the storm is supposed to go through Sunday, Sunday night, and even into Monday! How much and where remains to be seen.  I guess this is why they are talking about even going to Tuesday.

I still can't believe we didn't build a dome, downtown.

Though I did PREDICT we would not, Buffalo being Buffalo.

There is a pretty good idea of where and how much. And if anything these totals usually end up being lower than actual ones.

As a separate note, my life changed when I discovered there is such a thing as a 2 gallon ziplock bag 🥰🥰

it does not look like a duffle bag and the user not one who would carry a duffle bag.

So as I understand it the governor was essentially forcing the hand of the NFL and team. It wasn't so much as the three of them working together as her decision and then just making the NFL agree. It caught people off guard with the bills. That is why a statement wasn't initially available because they were still trying to work through it when she just went rogue. She had enough.

Good for her.  She made the right call.

It's not about the quality of the game, it's about whether it is safe to get there and back.

Ask him if he could 'accidentally' push the fence on the hill over with his plow.

Understandable.  Buffalo had how many people die in a blizzard last year?  47?

The NFL can hold a game, but if drivers are out on the streets and block them, and people are injured or die as a result, finger are gonna point at elected officials for not instating a driving ban, not at the NFL.  And if a driving ban is instated, elected officials can’t selectively enforce it and exempt team busses, fans, etc

Granny got arrested when she went to buy formula for her grandkids but police escort led the way for the team bus, not a good look for the Shield.

The Missouri governor had no reason to declare a state of emergency or impose a travel ban.  As you can see from the TV clips, it is very cold but the field and stands are clear, there has been a light dusting of snow but it didn’t rain as temps were dropping so it’s not particularly icy and roads have been treated as necessary.  KC is on the eastern edge of the Great Plains and these conditions are typical for winter on the plains, they occur regularly and are not considered an emergency.  People drive in this.  People who are driving in rural areas keep sleeping bags and emergency kit in their car if they’re smart.

Where was RGIII’s concern for 117 degree temps in the sun, asymmetrical for one of the teams?  That’s not safe for extreme exertion over 3 hrs.

Increasing confidence another multi-foot lake effect storm targeting the Buffalo Metro area happens between Tuesday night and Thursday night, FYI.

Longer term, looks like we get back into the upper 30s and low 40s starting week of the 23rd so it looks like just a bad week and a half or so.
