hondo in seattle Posted January 3 Posted January 3 He's been ineffective this season and this game is just too important. I hope he's inactive again. 1 7 Quote
DCofNC Posted January 3 Posted January 3 He has been trash at setting the edge this year, he’s the last guy I want out there getting pushed past the play. I hope he’s done for the season. 3 2 1 3 Quote
TBBills Fan Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I'll let you know after I see how he practices this week 4 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I do not think he should. Others are playing better. I do not think he will be. I think we've seen him in a Bills uniform for the final time this year. And perhaps ever. 2 Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Hell to the No x2. I'd call it a year for Von and see what we have in September? Edited January 3 by LABILLBACKER Quote
FireChans Posted January 3 Posted January 3 No x 2. von is done. He has played his last down as a bill. 1 Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I think they’ve concluded he’s just not going to get where they need him to be this season. 3 Quote
QB Bills Posted January 3 Posted January 3 No way he should be playing. My concern is McDermott not wanting to bench him again. Quote
T.E. Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I'll zig while everyone zags and say he should dress. This is a guy who has a documented history of coming up huge in big games. He'll be looking to make an impact too, after what had to have been a humiliating benching. 6 4 Quote
eSJayDee Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Both from an eyeball test (which, admittedly could be biased) & from a statistical standpoint, Jonathan has outperformed him (in noticeably less snaps, too). Additionally, Miller doesn't play ST, so unless we suffer multiple injuries mid-week on the DL, then no, shouldn't be active. 1 1 Quote
JackKemp Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I think Von needs to improve his health. They will not be able to release him or move him so let’s hope he gets somewhat back to his old self for next season. 1 Quote
Einstein Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I think the Dolphins game plan could involve a healthy dose of running the ball. Not Von’s strong suit at this point. 1 Quote
Dr.Sack Posted January 3 Posted January 3 No. And to all the Elam haters, I would rather Elam wear a jersey. 4 1 Quote

NewEra Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I don’t think he should be active but I want him to be active. If it’s between Miller and Jonathan, I’ll take Miller. Might not be the right move but I’m optimistic that he will make a few big plays this season. 1 1 Quote
wppete Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Bottom line Kingsley Jonathan right now is a better player and better effort. Von needs to be inactive. Quote

He tore his ACL late into the year last season, I think he may have a chance to be a productive player in 2024 given that players often take until two seasons after an ACL to return to form or at least somewhat closer to their form. Also the cap ramifications of cutting him in 2024 don’t add up, his 2025 dead cap is much more manageable at just 15 million which can be spread across two years. I think the Bills know Von coming back this season at a good form was unlikely hence the Floyd signing. I hoped that maybe after the bye we could really know what he has but it’s been weeks since the bye and he looked a little better but still far off from where he needs to be. 2 minutes ago, wppete said: Bottom line Kingsley Jonathan right now is a better player and better effort.
