BuffaloBill Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Bernard has been an absolutely fantastic surprise this season. He has played far better than Edmunds. 1 2 Quote

WotAGuy Posted January 1 Posted January 1 So….must be Baylon Spector will be an All Pro next year? 🤣🤣 The Bills have done a great job drafting defensive players in 3rd and lower rounds - Milano, Bernard, Benford and Jackson have had huge value and it’s needed to maintain a top team when the cap has the weight of a QB contract on it. 1 Quote

Maine-iac Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Joyner had Reggie White, Clyde Simmons, Jerome Brown, and Mike Pitts in front of him. Our line is pretty good but the Eagles were on another level. Back then the Eagles line and the Saints LB's were the two groups you didn't want to see on the schedule. 2 1 Quote
RyanC883 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 but we will suck without Edmunds because he made the pro bowl, etc. 1 Quote

The guy is a flat out baller. The D has transformed since he and Joseph stepped in. Great pickups by the Beaner. Fournette will be the next to shine come playoff time. Quote
Kmart128 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 So many people saw his size and assumed it was a bad pick. People failed to realize the NFL is changing and its becoming more of a passing/speed league every year. When we play the Dolphins twice a year we cant have slow guys in coverage Quote

T master Posted January 2 Posted January 2 20 hours ago, Roundybout said: Remember how this place acted when we drafted him? I ‘member. This makes the Bills letting Edmunds walk for more money GENIUS !! If Edmunds got the money he got then Bernard will be worth a lot more money than Edmunds when it's all said and done . I was really leery at the beginning of the year when they decided to let Edmunds walk & gave Ed the big contract but once again Beane & McD know much better than i as the fan that i am . He's playing great I would really like to see this D with him & Millano on the field !!!! OMG . Quote

Great job by Beane. One of the best mid-season trades league-wide, I'd say. Six turnovers forced since he arrived. We needed a big-play player with Milano gone, and he's stepped up. Bernard, Douglas, Oliver, Jones, Rousseau, Floyd... along with a lineup of good to very good complementary players. A very nice recovery after all the injuries. Only Miller and (so far) Elam have been disappointments. Even Poona has come on. Meanwhile, the offensive line is much better this year, Cook and Shakir have been much more productive, and Kincaid has been terrific. Only Harty and Sherfield have been disappointing, along with maybe Diggs recently. The defense is surging. Now we need the offense to click on all cylinders. A blowout would be ideal. No more close games! Quote

This is the nice thing about having a program in place for so long. We can draft and develop certain types that fit our schemes. And this is one of the reasons I am against moving on from McD and blowing this all up. 1 Quote
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 In what should be a positive thread about Bernard (who has been Amazing), still has people who somehow find a way to bash an ex Bill, who’s only sin was getting more money. So petty. Quote

I would be lying to say I won’t be concerned about this every year and I think big physical running team can be a problem for us (think of if the Browns had Chubb). But he has held up amazingly. Dude is a baller. Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I was honestly worried at the start of the year. I thought that he might be the weakest link in the defense, and I am happily surprised and relieved to see him play at such a high level. Now I'm thinking about what it would look like to go back to a 4-3 base when you have a Dodson-Bernard-Milano group I am not an Edmunds hater (I was hoping to sign him back at the time), but it's hard NOT to compare a new starter to the person he is taking over. 13 minutes ago, C.Biscuit97 said: In what should be a positive thread about Bernard (who has been Amazing), still has people who somehow find a way to bash an ex Bill, who’s only sin was getting more money. So petty. Not here to drag Edmunds, but Bernard has been playing at easily Pro Bowl level, arguably All Pro and is doing so on a draft contract as a 3rd round pick. Quote
