4merper4mer Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 All the people throwing out their shoulders patting themselves on the back because Florida State lost big have a tenuous grip on reality. Half of FSUs team is gone. Does anyone think the helmets determine the outcome of games or might it be the players? One could just as easily point out that Bama required a Hail Mary to beat a team that just got curb stomped by Maryland. But that would also be inaccurate. Using FSU’s loss as “evidence” of anything is dishonest. Quote

Freshman are basically sophomores at this point and JR are basically SRs Every team in bowl season has also dealt with players leaving ... 10 players out or 30... They weren't closing the score gap... Maybe 50-10 Edited December 31, 2023 by Buffalo716 Quote

If they sit their top 15 best players including their top 2 QBs, you’re saying that wouldn’t be a possible reason for a blowout loss to the 49ers? 1 Quote

College football is completely different than the NFL... And there are plenty of bowl teams that are playing without 10 or 20 scholarship players.... When you have 115 players on your roster it truly is next man up The depth of your program actually is shown in the circumstances Quote

When you have 115 players on your roster it truly is next man up The depth of your program actually is shown in the circumstances There are plenty of bowl teams that lost guys to the portal/injury avoidance, etc. And every single one of them is a different team to varying extents. You cannot actually believe that getting killed in a game after losing TWENTY of your best players reflects some out of accurate assessment. If so, you’d think Maryland would be toward the top of the SEC standings and would have been likely to beat Alabama. I’m guessing you don’t. The CFP was not meant to “show depth”. Why did you ignore Kirby Smart’s comments about the game not really being a game? Should you update Kirby about how missing twenty guys doesn’t matter? Quote
Mr. WEO Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 How come Georgia (a better team than FSU all year) who also didn’t get an invite to the CFP, was able to field a full compliment of players to play that bowl game? Simple, because they are a team of winners, not whiners and quitters. The players, coach, AD, President are not winners, just babies. Norvell could only focus on “the snub”. Georgia all showed up and just played, despite nothing to gain and as much to lose (injury wise) as all those FSU players who quit on the team to enter the draft or portal (good luck!). anyway, sweet thread Quote
