Anyone who tries to intimidate or cause harm to someone else by swatting them is a garbage person who should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. 1

Elissa Slotkin said she was targeted in a "swatting" hoax Thursday evening in which police were sent to her Holly Township home in response to a false crime report. Michigan State Police responded to Slotkin's home after a "false threat" that was emailed to a local elected official, though Slotkin was not home at the time, said Lynsey Mukomel, a spokeswoman for the Democratic congresswoman. State police troopers checked out the Slotkin property and confirmed no one was in danger, Mukomel said. "This is the latest in a disturbing trend of swatting incidents targeting members of Congress," Mukomel said. "Congresswoman Slotkin is deeply grateful for the swift and professional response by law enforcement to this unfortunate incident, and that U.S. Capitol Police will be following up to investigate and hopefully hold accountable those responsible.""
