Why when you have Mahomes and the offense “friendly” nature of officiating? The Chiefs are void of talent. 4 hours ago, C.Biscuit97 said: McDermott and a pick for Reid, who says no? No way Quote

Every franchise QB has about two lifespans with its team, if the GM plays things correct. His first run.. and then his second. Chiefs are slowly heading into their second run. They will have a down year or two while rebuilding as much as they can, setting the stage for a second run at the SB. The Bills will be doing the same soon. Except the Bills don’t have any trophies for their effort. Which is quite sad. 1 Quote
finn Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 He's good, but he's a turnover machine. 😄 1 Quote
Steptide Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Watching them yesterday, it's surprising the bills only beat them by 3 Quote
aristocrat Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 They better spend the first three picks on receiver Quote

Only 5 players started both their 2019 Superbowl win and their 2022 Superbowl win: Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, Nnadi and Frank Clark (since gone). That Superbowl last year should have been the birth of a new team and was in part a result of a 2-3 years of really good drafting. But they have made some bad personnel decisions in the last 12 months. They have mismanged the offensive skill positions and the offensive tackle spots and it is coming back to hurt them. 2 Quote

Gotta say, Mahomes is awesome, and it was inevitable that KC would eventually have a down-ish season. The dancing on his grave that’s going on here is laughable. His career will be long, and the Chiefs will eventually retool. 32 minutes ago, GunnerBill said: They are already in their second run. Yes to all of this, but they have the capability to fix it — and I strongly suspect they will. As long as Mahomes is the QB, they will be competitive (at the very least). 5 hours ago, Bogie_Klinkhammer said: In reality, Mahomes is having a pretty good (not great) season. Mac Jones has been straight-up awful, so the joke doesn’t work. 3 1 Quote

Its why personnel decisions should never be based on “did we win the Super Bowl” criteria. CEH over Higgins looms large right now. Just like the Bills whiffing on Ford and Boogie loomed large last year and even right now. Quote
Nelius Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Mahomes has not had a dominating performance all year. This isn’t being a hater or revisionist history, he just simply hasn’t taken over stretches of games like a Brady or Manning in recent memory. He’s already got his Canton bust but it might turn out to be front loaded greatness. Quote

Their receivers can't catch, defense has been let down the last couple weeks, and Kelce has taken a step back Is it Kelce taking a step back or just the fact D can really focus on him given they have no weapons? Maybe both? Quote
