Toomstone.Part.Duex Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Im a biomedical engineering technician. (Fix/maintain medical equipment). The hospital where I worked at the time was very nervous about Y2K and made my whole department work. When nothing happened we were still told to stay. We watched tv and finally got to go home at 5am. There was a lot do to before Y2K with software updates, patch installs etc.. But nothing happened after midnight. Quote
DD4Bills Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 What I remember most was all of the old COBOL programmers who made an f'ing mint in the months leading up to this non-event. Quote
Orlando Buffalo Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Y2K did have potential to cause major issues if people did not know it was coming. But we had at least 8 years to easily deal with it and any system that was important had been updated in the 8 years prior to the event. Quote

gomper Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Watching the incredible world wide coverage of countries ringing in the new century across the globe on PBS. It may have been the single greatest TV program I've ever seen. Quote

Was it that show when Flutie sat in on drums for a song or two? Quote
