This is a gigantic load of dung.

You can turn on a television any day of the week and find somebody singing his praises.

Except , he's never won offensive player of the year or MVP.. and this is his fourth straight 40 touchdown season

He should be the FrontRunner right now with his 40 touchdowns.. but for some reason he's like the third or fourth choice

at least he is staying consistent with these last few weeks. Just staying steady in like 4th best odds.

been a brutal week for the favorites two weeks in a row. Dak and Purdy with massive slides.

I don't know what exactly it is, but Lamar is now 20-1 vs the NFC. I'm hopeful for a big, top seed clenching win next week vs Miami, but it wouldn't surprise me if they gave the Ravens FAR more trouble than SF did tonight.

the "official"  word was a stinger but It wouldnt surprise me if they just straight up sat him

Exactly. This was a ridiculously easy decision for Shanahan to make.

Reasons to shut Purdy down for the night:

  1. He was having the worst game of his career.
  2. The team had a 99% probability of losing.
  3. He had just gotten injured.
  4. Darnold seemed to give the team a spark.
  5. Darnold deserved a chance to show what he could do.
  6. The team needed to take the opportunity to evaluate what they have in Darnold.
  7. There was no good reason to risk further injury to Purdy... to either his body or his psyche.

Reasons to allow Purdy to continue playing:

  1.

He threw 4 ints but none of them were his fault?

Wonder if all Josh’s INTs are not his fault with that guy too?

To your points, all of them have validity and probably mitigated the final decision to have him sat. Good evaluation!

That was quite a statement the Ravens made.  Looks like they lost Hamilton though.  That could have an impact on their defense.

Good luck to Miami (not really) going into Baltimore and trying to get a win when the Ravens know a win will clinch the #1 seed. The Bills should beat the Pats at home. I am guessing we will find out sometime this week if the Bills - Dolphins game gets flexed to SNF.

All I'm saying is there is a reason that Ravens team has 1 playoff win despite them being unstoppable every year.

This isn't the same old Ravens.  They got a new DC last season.  It didn't seem to work out great because Lamar was injured a lot last season.  The Ravens sent OC Greg Roman packing for this season and brought in Maunken (sp?) as OC and upgraded their WRs to improve the passing game.  Lamar is no longer a running QB who can throw but a real good passing QB who can also run really well, much like Josh Allen.

If Miami lose this next game it 100% gets flexed IMO. How could it not with what’s at stake?

Maybe Broncos/Raiders or Chiefs/Chargers if KC lose and Denver & Oakland win their games Sunday. Division title on the line for Raiders there as well if those three things unfold.

Should be Buffalo/Miami but we will see…

There is 2 things that work against him. One being the amount of INTs and Buffalo's record.

Think the MVP is wide open now with Josh/CMC/Lamar as the top three candidates. Crap shoot at best but Purdy and Mahomes have dropped after their past games for sure.

Cut and dry.  It really isn't that hard to figure out.

If you aren't at least the 3 seed, you'd better have a gaudy stat line or a historical single season to win MVP.

Josh's turnovers will always be the other side of the coin to his TDs.

But Buffalo are likely to get the #3 seed… what happens then? His turnovers are a wash then but not if they are a lower seed by that logic… come on bro…

His turnovers are not a wash.  What does that even mean?

Even if the Bills get the #3 seed, Lamar and CMC would likely still be ahead of him.

If Buffalo become the #2 or #3 then the rest doesn’t matter seeing as his stat line isn’t gaudy or historical….

Theres no implying there.

Which means if the turnovers are that much of a problem why do they become overlooked because of seeding? They don’t.

To the other candidates, that’s what I gave an opinion on… Lamar, CMC and Josh.

From where this team was and is, Josh is undoubtedly the MVP of this team with those turnovers. Will that be enough to win the league title? There’s a definite chance for him in that trio.

You can’t remove him as a possibility in a “cut and dry” scenario based just on turnovers.

It’s the play as a whole and what they do for their team.

He's in the conversation for sure, I just don't think he's up there with Lamar and CMC, the front-runners, on top seeded teams.

I know how these things go and Josh would have to be absolutely lights out for the next 2, with a couple of stinkers from the former guys to win.

Screw regular season MVP. I'll take Super Bowl MVP instead.
