Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Allen is on pace to be the all time TD leader if I am not mistaken? 1 Quote

It's why you really can't compare eras for QBs. Hate to say it, but 84 Marino was the greatest season by a QB of all time. You gotta look at the comparisons and nobody was even coming close to that. Especially because of the fact you could mug a receiver past 5 yards. 5084 yards 48 TDS. Absolutely insane for that era and is an MVP level stat line even today. 4 1 Quote
ControllerOfPlanetX Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Never thought Allen would throw as many TDs as John Kitna….but he is closing in. 1 2 Quote

Aikman was a pedestrian QB that played near flawlessly in the SB playoff runs. He had only one season with 20+ TDs. That same year he had 8TD passes in the playoffs. That said he probably could have had a few more passing TDs if not for Emmitt Smith He had 141 career INT or 3% INT rate. Despite 75 INT already in Allen's career he is still lower INT rate at 2.4%. 3 hours ago, ChronicAndKnuckles said: Hate to say it, but 84 Marino was the greatest season by a QB of all time. Not only is Luck not a HOFer but anyone who's even a casual fan of the NFL can clearly see that Josh's career trajectory is a HOF one. He and Mahomes are obviously on schedule for Canton. 5 hours ago, FireChans said: About 50 TD’s ahead. 4 hours ago, BBFL said: Yeah, just checked. 217. Pretty impressive. Hasek won 6 Vezina trophys being voted as the leagues best goalie each time. That's second only to Jacques Plante who has 7 and played in the 50s and 60s. 1 1 Quote

He won the Vezinas and Harts but he was not looked at in the same historical light as Roy or Plante or Sawchuk at the time. Main reason was no cups. Second was being in small market Buffalo. And third was the European bias which was much stronger back then. Another reason is he came to the league when he was nearly 30 playing most of his early career in the Soviet controlled Czech Republic so his win totals weren’t high. It was only after retirement did he start being seen as the #1 or #1A goalie of all time (next to Roy). 1 Quote

Maybe in Buffalo. Nope. Everywhere it was widely known that Hasek was all-time incredible. On an interesting, and related, note, he stayed at a hotel I worked in back in 2000. I had heard that he was prickly and difficult, but he was anything but. Truly gracious and had a lovely family. 2 Quote
