NoHuddleKelly12
I’ve always been fascinated by stories of regular people facing extraordinary historical events beyond their control, particularly in wartime and at Christmas time, a traditional time of goodwill/reconciliation. I stumbled across this while researching the better known WW1 “Christmas Truce” of 1914, and hope you enjoy this story that highlights a promise of peace even in midst of the darkest of hours… https://www.abmc.gov/news-events/news/christmas-eve-1944-brief-moment-peace-battlefield also FWIW, there is a movie adaptation titled “Silent Night” https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0338434/# Merry Christmas Eve to all my TBD pals near and far!
Poleshifter
This is a great story. Thanks for posting it. I spent one Christmas away from home when I was in the Army. I was in Germany during the Cold War, so I was never in any danger. Christmas greetings to all of our combat veterans on the board. Thanks to all of you.
