Saxum
And should start dumping players they have no intension of keeping next year in case a player is picked up on waivers saving them money? Might even release a player so that a rival is hurt in playoff hunt / playoffs? Clearly New England Patriots @ 3-11 have no chance and is competing with NFC for 1st draft pick. Report out of New England GM/HC is out at end of season but I will believe it when I see it and will still be skeptical. He could be reported dead and I'd be skeptical. New York Jets @ 5-9 is hoping that they can try again to have winning season with Aaron Rodgers as QB next year. The Aaron Rodgers comeback that won’t actually result in a comeback has ultimately cost Kalon Barnes his job. He was put on PS and will be elevated for last 3 games. Tennessee Titans @ 5-9 and Los Angeles Chargers @ 5-9 Neither seemed to be going anywhere this year. Las Vegas Raiders @ 6-8 - they can be a difference maker and possibly a spoiler but cannot make playoffs They play Chiefs, Broncos and Colts all in playoff hunt. Ethan in Cleveland
These teams still need to have a full roster of players. They can't just dump salary. Also there are only a handful of games left. The vast majority of a NFL player salary is paid in roster bonus or sign on bonus. Little is paid in game checks. I have no idea why the Chargers just cut their DT. But it will not trigger some sort of mass cutting of players.
