Congrats to Jimbo Cook, by all means, but Dion Dawkins is the real offensive player of the week for my money.

While he did have some great blocking, he did do a lot of amazing sidesteps, and bouncing outside when the planned hole wasn't there. He also made guys whiff in a phone booth, and he broke arm tackles... all with ridiculous acceleration going north and south. I think with your money, you may need to buy the film and watch his best runs again. It wasn't just good blocking. Dawkins did have a great game though

The first sentence in my post was "Cook absolutely deserved it, BUT..."

Cook played very well and deserved the award. I opened with that. On the other hand, he averaged 4.2 yards rushing BEFORE first contact, and that speaks to a dominant performance of the offensive line, and the most dominant man on that unit was Dion Dawkins.

My sentiment that offensive linemen should win these awards sometimes is unchanged.

In his non-TD catch he didn’t juke the guy, he just ran right by the Dallas defender who seemed to be not ready at all for Cook’s quickness. Slow singletary or moss would have been stopped for 5 yards every single time that same play. That’s why it was so shocking to see.
