BigAl2526 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I'm seeing focus. The Bills aren't fooling around. I thought I noticed it in the Philadelphia game even though the Bills lost. It's pretty clear now. Being battle tested is part of it, but they know they are a playoff caliber team and they haven't always played like it this season. They have made up their minds that they are not letting the opportunity to make the playoffs slip away due to a failure to be all in. 2 1 Quote

In college we had bunch of people from other dorm who would come out of Wilkeson Quadrangle pub around midnight, exit pub through courtyard and start singing and bellowing waking many people up. There would calls to campus police but by the time they came the drunks would be long gone. Police said there was nothing can be done since no cameras in courtyard and witnesses could not be 100% sure from their room windows. I brought home several dozen eggs and left them on my window sill. Next time they started singing, did I got a dozen and ski mask, went to ground floor and went to courtyard exit by internal way. When the shouts of shut up started and they were responding to screamers I threw the eggs at them and from being on window sill for several weeks they were rotten. Each was hit by at three eggs and they fled early. Next day my Quadrangle floor manager told me there was a smell from my balcony. A bird probably laid an egg there and please clean it up. I do not like being told that nothing can be done. I admire your sheer will to win. Bravo Quote

Our offense got a lot better, but the changes were subtle and took several games to fully take shape. But I definitely assume he won't be making so many idiotic fourth down decisions as Staley did. Still, they definitely do not have Justin Herbert, and a good chance they don't have Keenan Allen either, who has been all-world this year. I would think it would be even less of a home game than usual for the Chargers - how many actual Chargers fans would have held on to their tickets after the Thursday night debacle. Of course, past Bills teams have blown equally optimistic situations. But this is this Bills team, not those Bills teams, so you can't really transfer that onto this squad. 1 Quote

nedboy7 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Even if they win it all this year, I’m not making any judgements until I see how far they get in the playoffs next year. I’m no Homer. 6 Quote

Yes the Chargers are reeling with a fill in HC, fill in QB and nothing to really play for at this point. But sometimes these teams can present a challenge. Last week, the Cowboys came in red hot, media darlings playing on the road against a team with a lesser record. Sounds.... familiar? and were humbled. I want to see Buffalo come out and keep that intense style of play against a team they are expected to beat. I believe They will, of course and end up winning comfortably. But they need to stay locked in and come out prepared are ready I take the point but Easton Stick is at QB. I think McDermott shuts him down and the Bills win comfortably. 3 Quote

With losses to Zach Wilson and Mac Jones on the books this year, I cannot take Easton Stick lightly no matter how ridiculous his name is. There's a lot of talent on that team. 3 1 Quote

Steptide Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Everyone says the team ran out of gas last year. I disagree. That loss against the Bengals felt like it was a long time coming at the time. The bills didn't run out of gas, they were out played, and Dorsey was probably a big part of that. The offense just looked so dull under Dorsey. Sure he called some good games, but there was just something about Dorseys offense that just didn't look right compared to what we saw in 2020 and 2021. 1 1 Quote
JerseyBills Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) Yup it's a bully vibe, SB vibe, they're oozing confidence on both sides of the ball. McD righted the ship on defense with Douglas and Dodson filling the shoes of Milano and Tre. And Jones will be back within 3 weeks. I said it at 6-6 , this SB documentary is going to be epic Edited December 20, 2023 by JerseyBills 1 Quote
Since1981 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I hate to pin this on one guy. But McD was slow to replace Dorsey. Brady is getting them big points in 1 half. That’s huge for the now more comfortable D additions. Josh seems happier. Brady put Bills ahead 1H, 49 run plays, Bills D play from ahead. I don’t see this happening under Dorsey. 1 1 Quote
BritishBill Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Chargers feels like a classic banana skin game. Everything about it screams that we should wipe the floor with them. Hope we just get it done! 1 Quote
ddaryl Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I do like the way the team has played since Brady took over at OC... The D as well... But it's gonna take one heluva a run for me to start trusting McD in big games Quote

TheWei44 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) For me, the physicality/bully mentality seems new and refreshing. Like we're gonna line up and punch you in the face. I also think the timing of our bye week helped alot in hindsight. Go Bills! Edited December 20, 2023 by TheWei44 Quote

They got a win they shouldn’t have, and all it did was make the team draw a line in the sand and *nobody* could cross it. If a certain game had a slightly different ending I think that we would have made (and won) the big one. The difference is this time we aren’t currently winning the division. There’s no sleepwalking to the playoffs, and with that it means everyone needs to execute. The only way we survive is to destroy whatever is in front of us. We look like that team with a chip on our shoulder. We look like we are finally clicking. We look like we could be champions. All that’s left is to win and keep winning. One. Week. At. A. Time. I get more TB in 21 vibes (OT and got ref'ed) but agree its similar. but then again so is this script. Bills come on strong late in the season with Josh Allen. We have won out in December every year since 2020. Out last losses of the season have been against good teams before we go on a tear at the end of the season. Cards Week 10 2020 (best month of football in my life), TB week 14 2021, Vikings week 10 2022 (though Cin game ending prob helped). Would also note the deepest run we had was to AFCG in 2020 when we had a week 11 bye. I think later bye might set us up though we still have a pretty big hill to climb. Quote
Bookie Man Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Anyone else get Buffalo +2500 SB odds after the Philly game? Quote

H2o Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I do like what I'm seeing out of this team as of late. I think we are absolutely dangerous right now, and especially if we get into the Playoffs. Our backs are against the wall. This team knows they have to basically win out to get in. Still, I remember our backs being against the wall before and losing to the Steelers 2nd and 3rd string to miss the Playoffs. Any given Sunday anything can happen. I hope we string together a beautiful 3 weeks of football, on top of what we've seen the last two, and then some. Just taking things one week at a time for now though. 1 Quote
