I never understood why this day was such a big deal. BS holiday created by hallmark and propped up by women to get free stuff. 1 Quote
Buffalo Super Fan Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 1 hour ago, Nextmanup said: Does this mean it isn't coming to Buffalo in 2027? Yes the only thing potentially coming to Orchard Park new Bills stadium is the CFL Grey Cup game if the Buffalo Bills vacate the Buffalo market in 30 years when there Bills lease is up because of poor stadium location and economic choices for Western New York like no dome by New York State, Erie County and Terry Pegula. I will no longer be on earth most likely by then if I am I would be 86 years old it simply won’t matter anymore so it doesn’t affect me as a Buffalo Bills fan. The Super Bowl was never coming to Buffalo but Orchard Park open air stadium supporters never understood that open air stadium means 20 events at best at the new Bills stadium just a waste of a lot of money with high end finishes but no dome. We kissed the area chances of getting double NCAA Basketball Tournament enter two buildings Key Bank Center and Buffalo Bills new stadium alternating odd and even years along with WWE Wrestle Mania, plus college football bowl game and UB Bulls football games goodbye with a open air stadium decision. Which has to be one of the dumbest economic decisions in my lifetime of almost 56 years as a resident of Western New York. The Buffalo Bills are going about even the open air stadium decision backwards. If I owned the Bills there would be drive in movie screens in the offseason and flea markets in the Bills offseason in those empty lots decades ago. Western New York residents not enough people really understand how backwards economically this Western New York area is. Hawaii and San Diego have flea’s market in their stadium and Arena parking lots when there are no events inside the stadium or arena to produce revenue instead of picking the taxpayers pockets. Because it’s easier for the Bills owner to sit on his but and ask for public money each lease picking our pockets let’s just tell it like it is. The Bills don’t really try to produce outside football games revenue why should they it’s easier to threaten the taxpayers of leaving every new Bills lease. In Honolulu, Hawaii Aloha Stadium when I was there on vacation they used the food stands and restrooms for the Hawaii flea market. It’s just sad yet we got Bills fans that really believe Orchard Park is going to be a destination this time like Disney land? Wrong put the drive in movie screens up, mini golf and flea’s market because that is all a open air stadium in a middle of nowhere is really good for. But other than things like that nothing to see here carry on we got a tailgating parking lot so Buffalo is saved yahoo. Right wake up we aren’t even doing open air stadium Rich Stadium right back in the day. I doubt the new Bills open air stadium will be any different outcome of 15 to 20 events tops a year like Rich Stadium. Again hope I am wrong but Western New York history says otherwise economically we have to be for a city our size one of the most backwards area in America for understanding business in my opinion. Go Bills! Go Bonnies! Let’s Go Buffalo 1 Quote

Obviously, I was wrong. 40 miles is a long way so at least 100,000 would seem legit. But even that is obviously off There is nothing of any significance within 40 miles of Buffalo. Look at a map. https://milesofme.com/buffalo-ny/40 1 Quote

BRH Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 Besides all the real reasons why Buffalo/WNY will never host a Super Bowl, think of how ***** annoyed those of us who live here would be if we got one and the Bills weren't in it. Traffic jams and long lines everywhere for two weeks, and asshat fanbases to boot. No thanks. Quote
Jauronimo Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 They estimate the super bowl brings about a million people to town over the 2 week spectacle. Its not just players, media, and fans. Everyone who is anyone is there. Queen Latifah? You bet your ass shes there. Steve Guttenberg? Hell yeah. Ringo Starr? Quite possibly. There are parties all week, events, concerts, pop up clubs and restaurants. The NFL has an interactive experience near their media setup that claims multiple city blocks. Uber drivers come in from all over the nation to work. And the whores! Good god man, the whores, they're everywhere!! I love you, Buffalo, but you're just not ready for primetime. Quote

bigduke6 Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 actually going to the Super Bowl, as a fan of either team, doesnt really matter anymore. SB has become a wealthy meet and greet for the most part, for people who couldnt care less about the actual game and have oodles of money to throw away. so not getting a SB in Buffalo even with a new stadium doesnt matter much to me tbh. we're a small market team, part of our charm, much the same as Green Bay, who will never host a Super Bowl either. LA, the city where their team won the SB, and barely anybody from LA cared, gets another SB. not surprising. 1 Quote

I think I heard there needs to be 200,000 hotel rooms available within a 40 mile radius from the stadium. You mean to tell me between Orchard Park, all of Buffalo and downtown Buffalo, Amherst, Niagara Falls, Canada and all other areas around the stadium that they can't find 200,000 hotel rooms? 40 miles is a long enough distance and in just Downtown Buffalo alone would have a lot there already as of early 2020, city of Buffalo had 2400 hotel rooms.
