bigduke6 Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 expecting Von to do much of anything this season was a pipe dream. his age, the injury history, was asking alot there. im not done with Von, we saw Tre not be Tre right after he came back last season. it takes time for most. if he doesnt show improvement in the first half of next season, then its time to take the hit and move on. luckily Beane made the best low key offseason signing in quite some time, Floyd. hope we can keep him around next year. frostbitmic Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 I expect Von to be Super Bowl MVP. 2 Quote

Tre took a long time to be back to even the ballpark of the Tre we knew. The greatest tragedy was that he was slowly getting there when the achilles snapped. I still dont think he would have been back to the same quality of what he was pre ACL but he was getting there. Von to me looks farther off and the KC game was the first fleeting glimpse of the old Von we have seen. So hard to say if he ever comes back!. 1 Quote
dayman Posted December 16, 2023 Author Posted December 16, 2023 (edited) I love the countless posts in here chastising me for posting this after the KC game…implying that the KC game looked anything close to what we’ve invested in Von… I hope he returns to true Von form. My question is whether people expect that to actually happen? Edited December 16, 2023 by dayman 1 Quote

It wouldn’t be surprising to see him extra motivated Sunday. Let’s hope. Quote

Donuts and Doritos Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 Lower expectations means less disappointment. I start every season expecting to draft 1st, so when we don't win the SB I'm not disappointed. Of course then we don't draft 1st either & I'm like super pissed that nothing's going right. So yeah, see how that works? Low expectations for Von. Quote

Some people have crazy expectations. Recently bias I suppose. If he hits his stride the last few games and (hopefully) into the playoffs it could be great Quote

My question is whether people expect that to actually happen? Does he get back to early 2022 form? Probably not, but I think he has a chance to get close. It’s going to take some time but he’s slowly getting better. Unfortunately, there’s no way to predict ACL injuries Quote
TBBills Fan Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 It would be nice if he does make an impact, he may be picking up some additional snaps Quote
SydneyBillsFan Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 At this point with Epenesa probably out for 2-3 weeks, we just need rotational-level play from Von. Anything more is an unexpected bonus. 1 Quote
TrentEdwardsCheckDownOn4th Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Von has gotten pressure on multiple occasions today. I'm willing to eat my words, I thought he was done but he's looked better these past 2 Games. Quote
Airseven Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Miller flashed. And what a job by McDermott. Prescott under pressure and off balance all game. I hope to see a thread of appreciation for the head coach. 1 Quote
dayman Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 (edited) I’m going to keep on watching people say he flashed, or he this, or he that…we are paying him a TON of money this year (forget about after that for a moment). The question remains, is anyone expecting a reasonable return on that this year? Edited December 21, 2023 by dayman 1 Quote

JohninMinn. Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 He's got one tackle for the year so far. 1 Quote
NickelCity Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 (edited) Of course we won't get a full return on a preinjury contract this year. That said I expect him to be a beast next year. Edited December 21, 2023 by NickelCity 1 Quote
TFBillsfan Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 At what point is Von a liability. He looked invisible tonight and played like George Pickens blocks. Zero impact against the running game and in the passing game gets totally shut down going one on one. Two tackles the entire season. IMO his playing time should be significantly reduced. Two total tackles for the season. 5 Quote
