Sorry Josh, we should have given you Dhop, and an innovative OC.  You got Trent Sherfield and Joe Brady.  

 

 

Was a first down to shakir and sherfield when they ran it.  Basically its the same RPO - if the OLB crashes you throw that every time.  They know its coming but they have 2 blockers vs. 2 DBs and you can run to the sideline for an easy gain.  If the OLB doesn't crash you can hand off and you have a better count.

It was a rough drop at the end of the game, most people want to run there and see how KC plays with their timeouts.  I kinda didn't hate passing there simply because playing for 3 only works if you can get the first down.  Otherwise you may as well try and score 7 if you're giving mahomes the ball back with 2ish minutes.

No, Diggs is not done.  IMO, he is playing through an injury which happens.  May need the same thing next week, having a hurt Diggs will still draw Gilmore.

 

Diggs hasn't been getting the calls IMO.  Looks like several times he got mugged.  

 

There have been more drops from him than usual.  And the drop at 2:12 is borderline inexcusable.   

 

I do like that he is being quiet.  Don't give excuses.  Don't get caught up in controversy.  Stay quiet let your rejuvenated play the last few weeks and into playoffs say what is needed.  As mentioned his play may not stand out against Dallas but he should be getting more calls at home.

I don't think Diggs is a big fan of those screens. The drops could be a result of him taking his eye off the ball to see if a DB or LB is going to knock his head off.

NO !! Although there have been a couple of passes he's dropped the last few games they are trying to take him away from the passing game because they know he is the main man so they put there best on him every game but he will be there when needed .

 

They have enough weapons at their disposal that Josh can make up for him as long as he see's the field I wish he had seen Gabe on that 1 play wide open down the middle that would have helped secure a bit of a cushion but they got this one !!

Chris Simms (who is very pro-Allen) on the Herd today said the Bills wideouts are being handled with a lot of man to man and said Diggs is not on the level of even an Adams or an AJ Brown.

Oh I was fuming about his drops yesterday and lack of play/focus. But he generally is good and consistent, Davis especially is more dependable to drop the ball then catch it. It is why when he was open late in the endzone on the FG drive I think Josh stopped looking at him given he wasn't doing anything all day.

It's been the standing #1 need on this team for the two years Gabe has been in the WR2 role:

 

There is no other boundary WR on this team that presents any sort of physical mismatch and playmaking.

He's closer to done than he is prime.  Part of this is on play calling and not *moving Diggs around more.  He doesn't line up in the slot enough for my liking. 

 

Instead of the 1st round DB a lot of you will be coveting this offseason, we need to find his eventual replacement even more so.  

 

I'd like a more explosive WR1.

The stats indicate what a lot of us have been seeing. Most alarming is that in the last 4 games he has a NEGATIVE EPA per target. A 9.7% drop rate which rivals even Davis's worst stretches.

 

He has not played like a #1 WR for several weeks now IMO.

I don't see how it could be because Brady took over. His route depth has gone up slightly since week 10 so it isn't just because we're throwing more screens. His drop percentage skyrocketing isn't because of Brady. For whatever reason he has just been off his game for a few weeks, I don't think there is an explanation.

Eh - he was getting absolutely mugged by sneed that entire game with 0 calls.

So far, he has 83 catches for 969 yards and 8 TD's. Definitely not done but the Bills will need to draft a WR in the 2024 draft to either compliment him as the #2 or an eventual #1 replacement. Diggs is 30 which isn't old but at some point, he will lose a step and would be better off as a #2 WR.

I don't think it's scheme that's causing him to drop easy WR screen passes.
