He was nonexistent today.  He dropped at least two screens. Sheffield was in for him again multiple times on key downs.

What is going with him and the WR corps more generally?? Was it scheme or is he experiencing a major drop off?

Gabe also put up another donut.

Josh was struggling all game to find anyone to throw it to.

The Chiefs have a very strong defense this year, especially against the pass.  Historically against the Bills, they've schemed to take Diggs away and force Allen to be patient and take the underneath throw.

I miss a lot watching broadcasts, but I would expect when people start analyzing film they'll find that the Chiefs D was like "OK, Allen has Diggs and no one, so we'll take away Diggs".

Allen was certainly trying to hit him.

Yes. Cut him. It’s Gabe time

Oooooh.  I love it when you talk dirty like that!

Diggs is fine. You don’t dominate every week for your whole career.

davis is a trainwreck for this offense currently. Even if he flashed open on a play.

True, but he hasn't dominated in any meaningful game his whole career either.

I agree. Diggs is fixable and will turn it on these last few games.  Gabe has lost Josh's confidence and I don't expect him targeted much here on out.

We have a big hole at Wr2, simple as that.

Doesn't take a defensive genius to realize that Gabse isn't winning 1-1 consistently.  So you double/bracket Diggs on most downs, then focus on Kincaid.

That means we need Cook and running game to be successful.  For better long term success, we'd have Shakir or Harty be a consistent threat from the slot.  That's been spotty, both guys have moments and I'm convinced we're wasting Harty (he is a talented player).

But we need a Wr2, next year's draft is ripe for Wrs in first two rounds that can step in and be our #2.

I pretty much agree with this. Diggs is doubled every play. Davis isn't beating his guy usually, and Kincaid has actually been our best mismatch recently. Diggs is great, but he can still get schemed out of a game if the defense wants to spend the resources on it.

The drops have been puzzling though.

the Chiefs always give him and our receivers problems because they hold them all game and hit them hard when they get the ball.

I got lynched for saying weeks ago that he looks a little checked out and not 100% in it. Always seems bothered by not being targeted but then proceeds to do very little or nothing with the targets he’s seeing.

Secondly, someone said it best in the GDT; how does Stefon get a pass for drops but Davis and the rest of the gang get burned at the stake?!

Yep, he had 4 catches on 11 targets for only 24 yards. That is extremely poor.

Sounds like you don’t think he’s declining then!

Definitely is declining. He's not dominating in meaningless games this year either.

Joe Brady has been great as OC... except for getting WRs open. He needs to scheme Diggs open.

see below. Perfectly explained.

I mentioned this in another post but Diggs is 7 yards shy of his 6th straight 1K+ yard season. Why is this narrative being pushed on this board? KC schemed Diggs out of the game, but allowed Allen to spread the ball to 10 diff receivers. Davis didn’t have a great game, but he was as wide open as u can possibly get for a TD on the last drive, Allen missed him.

It wasn't just this week though. He has not played like a top tier #1 WR really since the London game. It's a legit concern. Especially since the WRs behind him are below average, we need our #1 to be elite to make up for it.

I don't think this team has the necessary weapons to win a Super Bowl. Even if you assume best case scenario and we make it to the Super Bowl to play 49ers, Eagles, and Cowboys, how are we possibly going to compete against those rosters?
