Do you have any idea what would happen on this site if the Bills made a play like that, got flagged on it, play called back and they lost the game?

Isn't that just the final play of every single Bills season?

I want that pick pointed out for future ref influence far more than the blatant offside. That wasn't even close to an incidental rub; Toney runs right at Benford hitting him forcefully, popping him back, allowing Kelce to come completely clean. OPI is the main element of the KC route trees.

And as everyone has pointed out, Taylor being fully behind the center's rearmost sphincter is also an illegal formation.

Eh , no. Now, the mob would be out in full force calling for the offending player to be cut immediately etc. The coaching staff would also be skewered for allowing the players to be undisciplined- heck there would be calls for the GM to be fired. Uncalled penalties would also be a topic, but the penalty itself is plain as day. He may as well have been lined up alongside Miller. Easy call, and the great Mahomes had 3 more tries after the penalty to get a first down.

Exactly.  How many people on here were saying that the 12 men shouldn't have been called in the Denver game?  They were all over McD's and the ST coach's asses on that one, and rightfully so.  NOBODY said it shouldn't have been called.  It's exactly the same thing.  It's an obvious foul, play continues, and the non-offending team gets to pick whether it wants the penalty yardage or the result of the play.

I don't know what that guy is going on about.  Maybe he should stick to hockey.

Even though it's clearly a pick, it isn't OPI. The WR just has to sell the route to avoid the penalty. The Bills have had many identical plays this season. Murrary got called on one against the Pats because he didn't act like he was running a route.

Not on that play it wouldn't.  There is no grey area or judgement on that penalty.  Its as clear as it gets.  Dude was Offside.  Deal with it.  You seem awefully upset we won.  That penalty there is no judgement.  You seem to be the only one outside of chiefs fans that cant seem to understand it.

The crying about officiating here is like a religion.  It went in the Bills favor so it’s all right.  If it went the other way this entire site would be filled with “rigged, bills vs Other team & refs, NFL is scripted” and on and on.  But as of this moment, the NFL isn’t rigged because the Bills benefited from a bad call.  Some fans watch the NFL just to complain about calls and to boast about how the league is rigged.  Yet they watch every game like it’s their job.  Try figuring that one out.

Clueless.  It was not a bad call, start there.

Do people still pay to watch WWE and get upset, even though they know it’s scripted?  Maybe this year’s script is for the Bills to make an improbable run and win it all in Vegas?

Are you kidding me????  This board would have been po'd at the player and then called for the HC's firing at how a player could be so indisciplined.  It's just like the 12 men on the field.  The Bills were guilty as charged.  You look to the team as to who's responsible.

Unless he's a Chiefs fan.

Omg the Chiefs claiming Von Offside after the ball was snapped is beyond comical. Meanwhile they benefited from the very ticky tak call to win the SB. Patty boy with an embarrassing and ridiculous rant. The most privileged qb since Brady. Meanwhile the Bills had 1:13 and two timeouts. JA will remember the disrespect from the KC little *****…

It's not necessarily a "no-judgement" call, and they can and do warn coaches, but if there is a drop-dead must-call line it's when you look down the line and see the receiver's helmet in front of the center's. That's just too far to ignore.

Chiefs hold, shocking.  Ref pulls out flag about to throw it then decides to put it back in his pocket... also not shocking.

I remember loving the play he made despite the hold but I didn't catch the white hat grabbing his flag.

Probably put it away because it would have been declined anyways.

I bet if Dodson doesn't get him on the ground, he throws it.

That's probably what happened but it still isn't right IMO.  This is just more inconsistencies.  A penalty is a penalty.  Not throwing the flag there tells the lineman it's ok to do it.  Then the lineman gets called later and is like WTF?  Also the choice should be for the coach to make, not the ref.  I think they lost 4 yards on the play. Not necessarily a decline.

I think it's pretty clearly OPI because Toney actually turns and slams his BACK into Benford.  He gets up to Lewis and Benford and his apparent desire to run a route or to show his #s to Mahomes evaporates.

I posted some pics in the X's and O's thread, of course don't show what a moving picture does, but as a sales job it was entirely unpersuasive.

And also moot, since there was already a flag thrown at the snap.

Based off what I seen in the game with these refs... for all we know they coulda called the OPI and just didn't because they knew they called the Offside lol.  Look at the play I posted above showing a different play where the refs was literally in throwing motion with the flag and then tucks it back in his pocket instead.

Hell, now I am wondering how many times in each game have refs based their call on the result of a play.  Now it seems scripted.  Im not going full tin foil hat but this isn't a good look.

That's actually really interesting.  The ref didn't slightly go for the flag....he made a very fast and violent move to yank that thing out of his belt and throw it 10 yards....and then all of a sudden said "nope, better not."  Why?

My guess is he realized the tackle was being made for a loss ANYWAY, so the penalty did not impede a defender from making his play...therefore....just let it go.

That should NOT be the rationale, but that's my guess as to the ref's thought pattern.

That's just horrible.  Though we don't know what he's looking at or thinking, TBH.

Exactly.  If he actually is putting it back away just because the result on the play, thats horseshit and how many more times does this happen in every game every week.  Need all-22 for just the refs soon.
