Leonard Floyd is what Von Miller was supposed to be

and we should be getting Daquan Jones back here within a few weeks.

 

Disclaimer: I work with his cousin who was in Dallas for a work holiday party. We got to talking about football and DaQuan was visiting family on the bye week, said Cowboys game was his target. I can't verify other than his cousin telling me that. That would be huge

Uh, yeah, and that's the problem.  Sometimes the best ability is availability.  Full strength Von Miller has not been available and instead has been a huge money pit of disappointment.

Do you remember when Tre FINALLY came back from his ACL? Being able to step on the field does not mean you will be 100%, or even close. Von had 8.5 sacks before the injury and looked like a great addition, possibly the difference-maker we needed. Then he got hurt. It happens. You can argue it was foreseeable because of his age, but it was just lousy luck. 

 

People wanted a bold move to bring home a trophy. They took a big swing and got burned. Again, it happens. All the people who say “one before I die” have to realize there are consequences when you swing for the fences, for better or for worse.

Given that the Cowboys game is just over a week from now and DaQuon hasn’t been activated from IR yet, I’d say that’s not going to happen.

 

That said, it’s nice to hear he’s trying to come back this year. Maybe he can come back for the final stretch if there’s still a chance at the playoffs. That would be real sweet.

I'd think if that was the case he'd be on his active cycle that doesn't take up a roster spot already wouldn't he?

Yeah legal issues aside which is a big ***** thing, if Von could play at the level he was this D-line would be ridiculous.

I have ZERO ideas, or even wild guesses, on how the legal stuff will run, but it sure would be nice to see how he looks in late January. 

Just one more kick in the gut, but I won’t let it make me crazy. I keep telling myself that.

Floyd is who Floyd was supposed to be.  Von was fine til he tore the ACL.  My point is the Bills are paying for both and if they were both dynamic rushers that would have been great.

But he’s not healthy so that’s that. Injuries suck and a player can’t control that, but it’s next man up. I’m not dumping on him, it’s just the nature of the game. Floyd has stayed healthy (knock on wood) and has been extremely effective rushing the passer.

Man, when we got Miller last year he had a pop off the line like I've never seen. 

 

To be honest, it reminded me of Michael Jordan in the way a guy moving at super human speed moves. 

 

Floyd's badass but that pre injury Von was unreal. He was pumped to play in Bflo.

Yea he was. They took an all in swing on Von. When you do that you need a bit of luck and they, sadly, didn't get it with the ACL.
