Jets want to start Wilson again but he doesn't want to play (Empty rumor denied by coach and player)

It's possibly a no-win situation for him.  His career as a Jet w/ the current regime is over & most likely regardless of the coaching staff next year.  He's not going to look good if he plays & the more bad tape there is of him, the lower his perceived value.  If I were him, looking for future prospects, I'd wanna sit, too.

I would not want to play behind that O Line either.   Get yourself killed.

He needs to do a Baker Mayfield and go somewhere, anywhere else.

it would make for must see tv for sure can you imagine they trot him out there and he is in shotgun and just throws a pick 6 on purpose? 😂

Even better:  hand the ball to an onrushing DL.

I know it’s totally obvious, but let’s just hold hands and say grace that we didn’t draft Darnold / Wilson with top three picks three years apart, and then trade and pay an all time great at age 39 who never even throw a pass for us.

Carolina might be a good fit - lot of questions on Bryce.

Usually I'd support the team on this one, but they've benched him three times in three years.    Its not a good look for him not to step up in this situation, but he is playing for a coach and GM who are 15-31 and seem to skirt a lot of blame.      Someone on WGR said no team will touch him after this.  I disagree Marcus Mariota left a team without notice last year and still has a job this year.      The best part of the entire situation is to get rid of the kid the Jets have to eat 6-11 million dollars in salary.

Mariota also threw a TD pass to himself in the playoffs.

So are we now going to get a press conference with a teary eyed Zach Wilson with a black eye talking about how much he really wants to play this week.

Take a look around the league at the backup QBs.  There isn't much quality there.  If your QB goes down for any extended length of time, the season is over.  Any team that is paying franchise QB money can't afford a "good backup".  How many games do you think the Bills win with Kyle Allen?  https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchartpos/QB

Never tested because the other team is in victory formation, or the offense is on the field trying to catch up.

There isn’t much quality at starting QB in the league, let alone backups.

Too bad both of them beat us this year.  That is pathetic.

The defenses are what beat the Bills with defense oriented coaches who should be fired because they are defense oriented coaches.

He threw a short pass which was deflected and he caught it for a TD.

This is a bad look for Zach. His career with them is over but he needs to play as it is an audition for other teams around the league. Maybe he can get a fresh start somewhere else. Acting like a baby/spoiled brat won't help his career going forward.

I dont think its a bad look for him.  More so a bad look for the staff.  It was pretty obvious Wilson was the best QB on their roster no matter how bad he is.

Agree. Whatever you think of the kid, he came in week one against us and made several plays on third down that ultimately led to a win.

Can’t fault him for what’s being reported. They’ve turned their back on him and tossed him in the trash multiple times. The outcome of that is their own doing.

I am loving the train wreck of a team the Jets are this year!  Comically inept in many ways.

With Rogers calling the shots they are also likely stuck with Hackett for next year and some of the players Rogers gave big contracts to.

I love that Rogers is calling the shots for a competitor of the Bills, the same man who believed Jake Kumerow was an excellent receiver.  This year has been fun to watch, but wait until next year.

He has made 29 million so he is set for life so long as he is not a financial dummy.

He's in the cougar business, which might be cheaper than Garappolo's porn stars.

With Rodger’s out, Hackett has to actually try to be the offensive coordinator, it’s not going too well…

Garappolo being in Las Vegas likely got discounts with maybe more for recommending other players.

If they ended up letting this loser play the offensive line would purposely turn into a giant turnstile… would be fun to watch.

Well how would that be any different for that O line?

The thing is, no one knows how good Zach Wilson would be, playing with a good O line, a good OC, and better receivers.  Some QBs in his situation would do better than he has, but they're bigger and stronger and better capable of compensating for a bad O line.  I do not think his career is over, not with the NFL so desperate for QBs.  Someone will give him another chance, and if he's lucky that situation will enable us to see what he's actually capable of.

Fiscally sound reasoning.  Here, good sir, take my $5k, and invest it in a sure NFL 'investment'. 😁
