jethro_tull Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Bills Most Penalized Team Rank 2023 Currently the most penalized team in the NFL (and it's killing them). 2022 16th most penalize team *still in the top half of the league's worst despite the cancellation of the Bengals game. 2021 6th most penalized team. 2020 6th most penalized team. 2019 9th most penalized team. 2018 6th most penalized team. I find it kind of ridiculous that the Bills have basically been in the top 20% of the most penalized teams in the league since 2018. While I support McDermott as the head coach, they seriously need to hire an expert consultant to address this issue. This year in particular as the most penalized team in the league, penalties could easily be the reason they do not make the playoffs. Fix it now.... 2 Quote
Real McClappy Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Aren't those consultants called coaches? Thanks for the data OP. 3 3 3 1 Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 How about a consultant to get the refs to call penalties on the opposing team too? 2 1 4 Quote
pi2000 Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Are those rankings based on penalty rates or counts? The Bills run a lot of plays per game, near top of the league iirc. Opponents are usually playing catch-up so lots of passing plays against = more calls. Quote
Charles Romes Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Improved penalty avoidance helped put up a great record in ‘22 in spite of holes on the roster. Quote
Warcodered Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Is that the guy the Eagles have that pays Hochuli? 1 1 1 Quote
peterpan Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 That to me confirms the conspiracy- the nfl is out to get us. Quote
transplantbillsfan Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 First order of business... Slash Shawn Hochuli's tires at his house so he can't get to the game. 1 Quote
boater Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Nah. The Bills need a new kicker. Two missed field goals. Have those, and there is no OT. 1 Quote
pigpen65 Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 The Eagles game was 10-1 penalties in the first half. That's a reffing bias and there's nothing coaching or consulting can do about it. There is a penalty on every single play. Refs calling 10 to 1 is the refs purposely targeting one team over the other. 2 Quote

Plus, we see every week how illegitimate many penalties are. The NFL needs an outside officiating consultant in the worst way. They should approach the game the same way the USFL/XFL do. Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 My recommendation would be to donate to the refs kids college funds. Quote

Well two of the most rigged games I’ve seen in my life were the Houston playoff game and this past Eagles game. No penalties were called on both Houston and Philly outside of a couple false starts and an Offside in nearly five quarters of play both times. The refs historically haven’t done the Bills any favors. 1 2 Quote

T.E. Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Do not question McDermott's Teams of Discipline™️ Quote
jethro_tull Posted December 2, 2023 Author Posted December 2, 2023 hey, what happened to that funny firing squad post? Coach, consultant coach, whoever- being in the top 5th most penalties for the last 6 years is not an in-house fix. How many more wins does it have to cost before they do something already? Quote
Nephilim17 Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 The Bills need a head coaching consultant. 3 1 Quote
