Then McD helps out with a TO. Yeah if only Hyde could have swatted the one in the end zone earlier... Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I wouldn’t call it clutch. The Eagles have a big lead in their division and conference. And nobody’s blaming the kicker who misses a 59 yarder in terrible conditions. Hardly any pressure from on him. Still a heckuva kick. 1 Quote

Airseven Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Great kick, but yesterday’s game is rather meaningless for the Eagles. The stage wasn’t big enough. 1 Quote

DasNootz Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 On a really long kick attempt where you know the launch angle has to be low and up the middle, why not put Groot in the A-Gap instead of Tim Settle? That's probably 12" or more in vertical reach. Quote
st pete gogolak Posted November 27, 2023 Author Posted November 27, 2023 I shouldn’t have said “clutch”. Posters who have indicated you can’t have the most clutch kick in the regular season are 100% right. Has to be playoffs or Super Bowl. How about “most difficult”? Hitting a 59 yard FG on grass in the rain is nuts. Quote
Big Turk Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Honestly, I would be shocked when factoring in weather conditions if it was higher than 5% 1 Quote

BillsPride12 Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 In all seriousness it was a VERY impressive kick...but I was also expecting it to be good the entire time. The life of a Bills fan Quote
WotAGuy Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 McDermott calls timeouts like he’s calling his crack dealer. Quote

zow2 Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 This amazing clutch FG with the end of game on the line, the weather, the distance, etc.. it couldn’t come against Dallas or SF huh?!? it had to come against a team they play once every 4 years or whatever. sheesh. As a fanbase and team, we cannot get a break to save our lives. Quote
boco357 Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Vinatieri in snow vs Raiders divisional playoff was probably in my opinion Quote
Breakout Squad Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 That was the best kick I’ve ever seen. It sucked watching it go in. 2 hours ago, WotAGuy said: McDermott calls timeouts like he’s calling his crack dealer. I didn’t mind the timeout. Standard procedure. Quote
vincec Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 My personal favorite is Steve Christie hitting a 41 yarder, down 2 points, at the end of regulation, in the sleet, vs Tennessee in the playoffs. Unfortunately, you know what came on the ensuing kickoff so it’s completely washed away by history. Incidentally, it seems appropriate today to remember that on that play Dehaven wanted the Bills to run another play so that they could kick the FG with the last snap of the game but was overruled by Wade Phillips in another dubious HC game management decision. So, this kind of crap is not unique to McDermott. Quote
Xwnyer Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 No matter what happened Hoculi and company would have called some obscure penalty on Bils if kick was missed Quote
