He leads the league in Interceptions.  Hes thrown at least one in 8 straight games.   Hes a great quarterback but if you think anyone should be confident he wont throw the ball to the other team you're wrong.

You know what else he leads the league in? Scoring touchdowns and before McDermott slowed the offense down allen also was one of the best in comeback wins and 4th quarter wins....what has McDermott done for this team that is even close to what allen does for this team? We can find ten more McDermott in 1 off-season bet we couldn't find another allen in a decade

Because of the risk of interception and field position.

20 seconds isn't a thing.  It's hysterical to make it one.

And if it is intercepted then this thread has a different title and the coach is called a moron.

You don't force anything, but if you get a couple of 20 yd plays a FG might win it. It was a cowardly move when OT is at best a crapshoot.

Ok so it’s like this. It’s an apple from the same tree. The Tree is mcD. It wasn’t his worst game, but he’s still the apple tree producing bad apples. He had had zero emotion on the sidelines. The team is not prepared or disciplined. The personnel choices are border line mind boggling. Firing the OC took about 5 games too long. It’s not a coincidence we are always in these situations. It’s not bad luck. We should have stretched this lead in the first half.

oh and you cannot forgot his challenge record and god awful timeout usage. I mean this is the tip of the iceberg list

There is such a bad stench coming from this organization since 13 seconds. Way too many bad calls by McDermott since then. He has to go. Go get Harbaugh. This team needs a complete psychological change and that starts with getting rid of McDermott. He can’t get the job done.

This isn’t the 1990’s. Just last year the Bills got into FG range with 23 seconds left to beat the Lions.

In today’s NFL offenses can easily get a FG with less than 30 seconds.

This Bills are freaking 0-3 taking leads with less than 2 minutes to go. That would never have been a thing 20-30 years ago the way the game was played.

It’s a fireable offense!! Especially when your the coach that gave up the 13 second game. Guy needs to go! Now!!

almost comical… in fact it would be, if not for the fact thay we’re always, somehow, some way, the schlomozle in these scenarios.

I don't like the call, but I understand it. Allen has had a few games (at least before halftime) where he has thrown an INT that turned into points.

A fumble or INT is probably more likely given that Allen is at his best in those 12-25 yard passes. Anything over 25 yards on deep passes is not his strength.

It was totally gutless.

Tony Romo said we could have gotten "strip-sacked" in that situation.

We could also have gotten "strip-sacked" when we got the ball in overtime.

With 20 seconds and a timeout, we could have easily gotten into field goal range.  The Chiefs did it to us in 13 seconds without one.

Kneels.

This coach is a total loser.

Why not try to win the game?

He should be walking back to Buffalo.

So pathetic

Of course this is correct.

THE REALITY:  McDermott has more fear that he will lose the game in that situation on a turnover, than he has confidence/desire to go down the field and take the game.

Dude it should have been 3 TOs.  We wasted two while on D on the last two plays.  Eagles third down and Icing the kicker.

this team more than any other should know that 13 seconds is plenty of time.  20 seconds and 3 TOs is an eternity.

Until Allen forces a pick and we all scream for not playing for overtime when “we dominated the entire game”

That’s exactly the loser mentality our coach has.

And the exact sentiment of this board if Josh throws a pick. “We were playing so well, why not give yourself a chance in overtime, why put Josh in a bad situation, blah blah blah”
