Because at that time, he was coming off two season-ending injuries in a row. There was no way to predict that he would be completely healthy on his new team.

Agreed.  Shanahan is an exceptional play caller and Purdy is the perfect student. The pre-snap influence motion and route combinations, especially the high/low concepts are exceptionally executed.

Not an expert but I think it’s a completely different offensive philosophy. Like Tua, the QB throws to a window.
