Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) Article in the Athletic lists possible new head Coaches for Syracuse and lists ole Dougie as a possibility on a fairly long list of names. Not exactly Bills news, but as an ex Bills HC I'm sure he'd be in the western NY new much more if they did hire him and we post about Daboll and others like they are still here. Saints offensive line coach Doug Marrone, 59, played and coached at Syracuse. Marrone was the Orange head coach from 2009 to ’12 and did pretty well, twice posting eight-win seasons before leaving to become the Bills’ head coach. He was 25-25 at Syracuse and knows what it takes to win there. He’s also not that far removed from coaching in college, having spent the 2021 season as Alabama’s offensive line coach. Generic_Bills_Fan Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 What a career arc marrone has had lol…took the money and ran from the bills after a pretty good season then his career imploded Quote

Dougie has the second most playoff wins as HC in Jags history. Dougie is their fourth best coach in history by winning percentage. 3 minutes ago, GunnerBill said: To be fair he took the Jags to an AFCCG after that. Not to mention beat the Bills head to head in the playoffs 1 2 Quote

I just remembered that terrible game we had in the wildcard… Bortles vs Taylor in a game of “how little can we throw the football and still win?” Sadly it was Bortles because all he did was run or dump it off. 87 yards passing, 88 yards rushing… Edited November 20, 2023 by KingBoots8 3 Quote

Cue the "WTF doesn't Tie-rod Taylor get more love from Bills Mafia?" thread. He helps to end the drought and then put up that turd of a disgusting WC playoff game. AND WE LOST TO DOUG *****IN' MAROON!!! There, I feel better. 1 1 1 Quote
T.E. Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 It was hilarious when he abandoned the Bills because he thought he was getting the Jets job, only for that to fall through and the Jets coach actually ending up with his job. 1 Quote
dpberr Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Any college football program would be lucky to have Doug Marrone as head coach. Unfortunately, Doug Marrone also believes that. He'd be a great college coach. Doug Marrone Jr. (Matt Rhule) has performed a minor miracle making Nebraska competitive again. (5-6 overall) 1 Quote

Outside of their recent success and a few good years under Coughlin, they've been a historically bad team. Quote

RyanC883 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) Syracuse would obviously be insane to hire him. Toledo HC or James Madison coaches are the top 2 I’d be looking at. Both have deep ties in the recruiting areas you need (W. Pa, Ohio, and Virginia in case of Cignetti). Edited November 21, 2023 by RyanC883 1 1 Quote
