USMCBillsFan Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I was looking at their tour dates and saw that they played Darien Lake last night. Anybody go? I'd love to see their original lineup again.
taterhill Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 is Halford singing with the again? Man that fancy pants can rock
BF_in_Indiana Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Yes Halford is back in the band. I saw them at OZZFEST last year.
USMCBillsFan Posted June 8, 2005 Author Posted June 8, 2005 The bands are realizing that the original members make more money. Just like Bruce Dickinson coming back to Iron Maiden.
BF_in_Indiana Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I'm not really a fan of theirs, but they have individual songs that I like. They put on a pretty good show.

USMCBillsFan Posted June 8, 2005 Author Posted June 8, 2005 I'm gonna see them this summer. 353440 That's awesome. You're lucky. I've seen them 5 or 6 times in the 80's. They rocked hard every time and ALWAYS put on an awesome show.
Dan Gross Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 The bands are realizing that the original members make more money. Just like Bruce Dickinson coming back to Iron Maiden. 353438 Well, perhaps you should rephrase that to say that the members during their most popular years make more money. Bruce Dickinson was not the original vocalist, Paul Di'anno was. And of course the current line-up is the "classic" lineup (+ Janick) wiht Nicko (3rd drummer) and Adrian Smith (joined during the Killers time-frame).
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Speaking of Iron Maiden....http://www.sptimes.com/2005/06/08/Northpin...d_on_prob.shtml 353446 That's Iron Butterfly.
erynthered Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 That's Iron Butterfly. 353451 Oooops I'll delete it..........

My humble apologies.....
erynthered Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 That's Iron Butterfly. 353451 I was showing my age I guess.
HopsGuy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 That's Iron Butterfly. 353451 Speaking of Iron Butterfly, anyone ever hear the story about Phillip Taylor Kramer, the bassist? Apparently he was an aerospace engineer and mathematical genius. He died under suspicious circumstances 10 years ago. Here's a link.
stuckincincy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I was showing my age I guess. 353466 I always thought Lawrence Welk should have done a rendition of Inna-Godda-Da-Vida.
jayg Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Let me start by saying that Judas Priest was my favourite group until the 1991 or so. I loved them since I was 10. To me, Halfords voice has become sort of whiny as he has gotten older. I've seen them 10 times since 1983. Twice with Ripper Owens, and his voice is so much more rich and powerful sounding. Halford will always be the guy, but Owens, at this stage of the game, is better. I got to introduce them the last time they played in Richmond and met them after the show. I brought my tour book from 1983 and got Glenn and Ian to sign.

MarkyMannn Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 My son went to see JP last night, but I didn't get a chance to talk to him about the show. It's funny, he's 20 and goes to see bands that were popular when I was his age. Last year he saw Deep Purple at the Erie County Fair
Ralonzo Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 The bands are realizing that the original members make more money. Just like Bruce Dickinson coming back to Iron Maiden. 353438 The problem with that is Dickinson's solo stuff has been better than new Maiden since... maybe Seventh Son?
