JerseyBills Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) If posted, delete it mods... Congrats to 17 Officially set the All Time record for TDs by a QB in their first 6 seasons! Wow https://twitter.com/BuffaloBillsPR/status/1726384266664091842?s=20 with at least 6 games to go nonetheless, not sure if playoffs included, phenomenal accomplishment. We're in good hands for a long time fellas Edited November 20, 2023 by JerseyBills 15 18 Quote

Was wondering the same regarding playoffs. Nonetheless, an amazing accomplishment. Literally wouldn't take any other qb over him 2 1 1 Quote
That's No Moon Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 The silliest stats from Allen IMO are his rushing stats. He's 3rd in team history with 45 rushing TDs. He's currently 9th in team history in rushing yards and he could be 7th by the end of next weekend. This team has not generally lacked for running backs in its history. 12 Quote

Assuming he continues to be a Bill for another contract after this one. He will be #1 in rushing TDs and #3 in rushing yards in Bills history. 2 1 3 Quote

I googled both and indeed it's Thurman on both. Now Allen could break the all time td record even within his current contract. I'd be more than happy to never see him get close to the all time yardage, unless it's just due to having a long and successful career all while wearing a Bills uniform. Freddie's Dead Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 The bigger record is that Josh just passed Joe Ferguson for 2nd place on the at least 3 TD passes in a game list for a Bills QB. He's at 23, just 7 behind Jim Kelly. 5 2 Quote

On smart and timely runs like today he had a few runs that got chunks at opportune times and he did slide rather than take a bigger hit for a few possible yards. 1 Quote

I want him breaking the records of how many different receivers catch a td from Allen in single games. Who do you focus on 8f everyone is scoring tds? 1 Quote

Didn't Thurm have a bunch of receiving TDs too? I was to young to appreciate Thurman but watched many highlights and full games on YouTube and he consistently looked like the best player on the field. Could only imagine how dominant he'd be in todays game 5 minutes ago, Virgil said: Can’t believe no one mentioned that Mahomes sat his first season Good point! The point is, 65 rushing TDs is the record and Josh should be there in the next 3-4 years unless he is castrated beyond belief by the coaching staff. Quote

Mahomes got to start his career after sitting and learning from Alex Smith and was coached by Andy Reid and got to start with a great OL and have Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce for weapons. The circumstances in which Allen got to start his career on a rebuilding team clearing cap space are not remotely the same as the luxury Mahomes did on a playoff ready team with elite weapons and coaching around him. And Mahomes started a game as a rookie. Allen setting the NFL record despite the dumpster fire he had to work with on a rebuilding franchise his first 2 seasons is quite remarkable. Tomato tomatoe Misspelling True but far from all time in first 6 seasons. And he had only 1 losing season in that span , on a bad team, as a rookie. 1 minute ago, Alphadawg7 said: Can’t believe no one mentioned Allen was mentored by Nathan Peterman and started his career with Kelvin Benjamin and Clay as his WR1 and TE. Allen took 87 games to pass him. While definitely slower, still nothing short of impressive. Especially seeing as how awful his support was in his 1st couple years. Quote

Mahomes also was older which gives him a huge advantage starting only 1 game his rookie year, then launching 50 TDs in one season with 2 all pro weapons for 4 full seasons (2018-2021). Quote
PBF81 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Makes one wonder why we haven't gotten more from the team during that time span then. That seems to implicate coaching as well. 3 5 Quote
