Maine-iac Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Seeing all the injuries at DB I know Elam was put on IR but is he done for the year or is it one of those IR designations where they can come back and play? Are we about to see Benford, Douglas, and Norman at CB's? Quote
PetermansRedemption Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 I think even if he wasn't on IR for the season, he would be done for the season. He is on exile at some remote desert island. 1 Quote
bills742 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 I don't believe any IR designation is season ending, there used to be. 2 3 Quote
Success Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 My impression when he was put on IR was that it wasn't for the whole year. It's an ankle injury, right? 1 Quote
Maine-iac Posted November 20, 2023 Author Posted November 20, 2023 I know they threw him in a couple of games and it didn't go great. More so he wasn't tackling well than coverage problems but if Dane is down, and Rapp, and Taron, and Lewis is always knicked up I know he's not getting pro bowl votes but we seem to be down to slim pickings. Only caveat is you can only bring back 8 players a season and you can only bring the same player back twice. The 3rd time he goes on IR he is out for the year. philholbroo Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 would love to see him back this year, and put him in instead of taron when anything but pure zone. Such as the end of Broncos or Giants games. Quote
Warcodered Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Well they stashed him on IR but I suppose he could always have a miraculous recovery in case of an emergency. Quote

Only if player is IR'ed before the first game of season I believe. To prevent a team from basically taking a potential player off the market from competing teams. Quote

He has same issue as Jets CB being too handsy (and he got flagged this time shocking me) and in ending of those type of games he could cause a pass interference call which could help those teams win the game. 1 1 Quote

This year there’s a maximum of 7 IR’d players who may return, and they must be on IR a minimum of 4 games. So Elam could be designated to return after next week 1 1 Quote
John from Riverside Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Elam might be done for his bills careerM I can easily see them treating him in the off-season Quote
Spiderweb Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Wasn't the official word that he was shut down due to an ankle injury that wasn't coming around? 1 Quote

78thealltimegreat Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Beane said in his post trade deadline press conference that they were thinking of shutting him down for the year over his ankle. If only Elam where a decent pick him and Douglas manning the corners next year would make life without Trey alot easier. Quote
