Roundybout Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) Oh look, more Republicans who can’t comprehend anything outside the acre of dirt they call “home” attempting to understand global politics They’re protesting because the conservative leader Feijóo put his own interests ahead of the country and failed to form a majority coalition in parliament, which led to the socialist Sanchez winning a vote. People are upset because Sanchez has a lot of support from two parties that are for Catalonian Independence and they think it threatens the country’s unity. That’s it. No one is protesting “socialism.” Then, it’s not surprising at all that knuckle draggers on the right wing can’t comprehend anything not spoon-fed to them by Fox. Morons. Also “the media” isn’t hiding anything. There are multiple stories on BBC and Deutche Weld about this. Again, it’s simply more right wingers who think that if it’s not on their dog**** local cable news station, it’s all being covered up by some grand conspiracy. Morons. And here's the thing: the Catalan separatists are from the most economically successful area of Spain. They want at least some degree of autonomy, and they don't want to keep sending their tax euros to the poorer regions of Spain. The new government is granting some type of amnesty to the Catalan separatists. Which somehow translates to "tyranny" to some of the posters here? Isn't that the opposite of tyranny, granting someone more autonomy? 1
