bostonadguy Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 (edited) Dorsey took the fall, but I would love to see how cohesive the offensive side of the ball is from the staff. The rest of the staff is part of this with McDermott failing to be on the same page as his OC and GM Joe Brady is/was Allen's QB coach. Why has he not been able to have Allen perform at a high level did like Dorsey did when he was the QB coach? Don't you think he has a part to play in all this? Same with the position coaches? For an organization to function there needs to be alignment from the GM on down GM/Head Coach - Determine style of play/Philosophy needed to win in a modern NFL game GM - Pick players that Match style of play Head Coach - Install philosophy and style of play into all 3 parts of the game - set the tone (*** There seems to be a disconnect between Head Coach and OC - and their was when Daboll was here too***) OC/DC/ST (Coach the philosophy based on style of play and talent available) (*** There seems to be disconnect here too, especially with QB Coach and former OC ****) Staff Coach - (Coach positions to play within style of play) WHATEVER is going on behind the scenes is messing with our players heads and there is something unhealthy in the organization's dynamics that wasn't there the last few years that there is now. McDermott has never had to be accountable to poor performance over time because in 2017/2018 we were rebuilding (low expectations) and in the last few years we've been one of the best teams in the league. This is the first time he's had an extended period of poor performance with a team that has talent and high expectations. The rest of the season will be a first time experience for him and we've already seen him start to have cracks in the armor. His number one superstar has either tuned him out or is so FUBARed by his coach so it will be interesting on how this plays out. I also don't think that him being a DC has kept him away from being an effective HC but who knows. Edited November 14, 2023 by bostonadguy Quote
