Buffalo_Stampede Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 (edited) So many teams are going to go after OCÂ Bobby Slowik this offseason. Texans have a bright future but that was the fear in Buffalo for so long. Would the OC get a HC job right in the middle of developing a QB. Lucky for us Josh got 4 full seasons in the same offense. Texans might lose Slowik after one year. Edited November 13, 2023 by Buffalo_Stampede 1 Quote

But certainly coaching is a factor for a rookie QB that might end up having the best season ever under those circumstances. Quote

TheFunPolice Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Both Ryans and Pierce are defensive minded guys, so hopefully their success helps coaches on that side of the ball get a fair shake for HC gigs.  Defense has played very well league wide this season after it was assumed that you didn't really need a good defensive coach and offense was all that mattered.    Quote

This year's defense in Carolina notwithstanding, he coached some good defenses in Denver. Also Lou Anoramo in Cincinnati. Both of those guys will get interviews this offseason. Quote

I still can't believe the NFL let them hold on to those 3 #1s, after discovering the Texans put him up in those hotel rooms, essentially enabling him with that behavior. It's total BS, they got off real real easy, just paid a fine & lost a 5th round pick.  It helps when the lawyer representing the women lives across the street from the owner.  Case 1 Quote

Big Turk Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 (edited) CJ Stroud is going to be a problem sooner rather than later. He already has leapfrogged Trevor Lawrence in that division. They are a lot of fun to watch...kinda like the Bills were in 2020. Throwing the ball all over the place, tons of people involved. Likely will slow down once teams get a better read on him and the offense by middle of next year, but he is for real. Texans straight up beat them. I watched the whole game because I wanted to see how good the Bengals really are. If Stroud didn’t throw one of the worse interceptions of the season they would’ve likely won by double digits. All credit to them for beating an opponent that the Bills couldn’t  even contend with the week prior.       Quote

You may have missed it (somehow), but it wasn't just a one-time event in a hotel. It was ongoing.  Teams go to great lengths to protect their players, until the player/team relationship is ruined. They enabled him, got off due to public perception on DW's creepy habits. Be better. Quote

They enabled him, got off due to public perception on DW's creepy habits. Be better.  I am more than familiar with what happened. I am a Houstonian member, was there this morning.  So it happened many times? How many massages do you think these guys get a year, 5?  Are the Texans supposed to know he was sexually assaulting women in his room?  As for the timing, it started when Bill O Brien decided to "give away" Watson's favorite receiver, De Andre Hopkins for an old washed up RB and a 2nd, one of the worst trades in modern NFL history and he was pissed going forward. If there is one person to blame for it all (besides  Watson), it was the room temperature IQ Owner Cal McNair for letting , as he would later say, (I think) "let the prisoners run the jail" meaning O Brien ruin the team. Some speculate O Brien wanted to get fired and paid off, might be true. He was finally fired after going 0-4 and it was too late (IMO) at that point, damage was done. Watson played the rest of the year and AFTER the season is when he started to voice his understandable displeasure.  Back to the Houstonian, it has always been a popular place for rich athletes to hang out. It would be a very logical place for D Watson to hang out during Covid. As would River Oaks would be the logical place for 2 uber rich Houstonians to life. But if that is your "evidence", you ,must be a real sucker for conspiracy theories. Where there is smoke there is fire, wow, got me on that solid evidence. HappyDays Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Their OC Bobby Slowik is another young up and comer from the Shanahan tree. At this point you'd have to be crazy as a franchise not to have someone like that as your OC or head coach. That has far and away been the easiest and fastest path to success for several NFL teams over the past few years. Rams, 49ers, Dolphins, now the Texans. 1 2 Quote
