Happy for Motor. 30 touches and 150yards vs. Cincy today. Thought the Bills didn’t view him as an every down back?? Still upset the Bills shut him down towards the end of last season to play James Cook. Great job today Motor!! A Rookie QB and a ex Bills RB went into Cincy and did what the Bills couldn’t. Embarrassing

Where was this thread last week?

We have one of the most uncreative run schemes in the league. Dorsey just expects everybody to line up and beat their man, no wrinkles or clever motions thrown in to create advantages. In fact there were a couple plays against the Bengals where the pre-snap design of the run play created a disadvantage. And then when those plays predictably fail we completely shut down the run game. So defenses don't respect our run game even a little bit which means our pass offense is left at a disadvantage. Everything works together to create one big failure. Uncomplementaty football as it were.

To be fair this isn't just a Dorsey problem. Daboll had the same problem. Which means ultimately it's a McDermott problem.

Sadly even when it doesn't fail we just stop running the football.

He was averaging 8 carries/game and 3.4 YPC prior to today.  It will be interesting to see if they run him as much in the future as they did today.

Ya but it sounds better the way the OP said it

He was a good player in Buffalo… they just wanted more speed

Like playing RB.

Not sure who’s the better chef?

The better chef?

I think it's a bit stupid to compare two different running backs that run behind two different O-Lines.

Cook has the speed and is FINALLY showing a bit (only a little) of power in his game.  For the first few games, he would get drop to the ground at the slightest effort from the defensing player.

Motor had exceptional vision (When there actually were gaps/lanes) and almost always gave the defending players a big "Pop!" at the end of each run.  For such a small guy, he packed a punch, and I loved watching him play.

Absolutely happy for him as well. Way to recognize, even though I am a bigger fan of Cook’s game.

Would you want to be paying Singletary $2.75m ?

Who cares.  He's not here.

Either way, $3 is chump change.  RB is hardly our greatest issue.

The running backs we had here were never the problem. All of them could do what we have needed. A mixture between o line and offensive system and predictable play calling lack of knowledge or will to use players strength and more of a dependency on making players fit the offense they want to run is the problem.

He's short not small

At five foot eight and probably 200 lb... That's a brick s*** house

That means you think any player comparison is stupid. Almost no player has the same variables, but we watched Singletary in this offense for a while. I think Cook’s skill set translates to it better.

I’m still waiting on the proof…because I haven’t seen it.

It doesn't really matter if Cook, Singletary or Moss are the RB's.  Our organization has NEVER valued an oline worthy of run blocking.  Christian McCaffrey couldn't find holes behind our line.

Theoretically I'd agree with you.  If we ran the ball more (although it's pretty even) you could argue that Cooks offers a larger home run potential, but we don't run the ball much.  If we threw to the rb's more you could argue that Cooks is better catching the ball, but we don't throw to the backs that much.  What we do all the time is throw the ball and Singletary was a much better pass blocker which is why Cooks is off the field so much when we are throwing in the fourth quarter.  Cooks will most likely get better at pass blocking but we still probably will not use our rb's as much as other teams.

Not enough oline investment

We prioritize the other line and the run game unsurprisingly suffers for it

I miss being able to quote Sister Christian lyrics every time Motor made a big play. Also was sad to see @Motorin' change his avatar...  Good for Devin, hope he rips it up and gets that caysh.

I enjoyed watching him play a key role in beating the Bengals today!
