I’m not saying that it’s not a difficult situation for the Bills. It is. But it’s rare for a team to win a SB without overcoming adversity. The Bills are going to have to figure out how to do that.

Every player is a complimentary player bar the absolutely best of the best in the league.

schemes and packages are reliant on a combination of factors, one of which is field position.  When you are backed inside of your own 10, you don’t open the playbook like you would starting at your own 40.  I’ve commented on goal line plays in other threads, but that comes down to execution, and the last one we complained about was a fault of Allen’s.  However, that’s a small component of a much larger issue, which is this defense not creating turnovers, pressure, or 3 and outs.  And that can directly be contributed to the losses of White, Milano, Jones.  Those three being out puts this team in a terrible position moving forward.

 

good offenses don’t move the ball regardless of field position.  The BEST offenses have the BEST chance of moving the ball regardless of field position.  And the Bills are a good offense, but not the best.  Of Knox is healthy and Allen isn’t nursing a shoulder issue?  Maybe we are top 3.  But right now we are above average offensively in talent and average in results.

Agreed.  I just feel that a team with an all-world qb that has talent surrounding him with minimal injuries, should be bailing out the defense and not the other way around. The bills at this point should be attempting to win in shoot out fashion as opposed to complimentary football. Precisely because of the defensive injuries. Relying on that depleted defense at the end of the game to make a stop or force a turnover is a recipe for disaster.

I also might add that unless our offense can start scoring again, teams like Philly, kc, Dallas, Miami and chargers are going to be a real problem. I can’t see our depleted defense holding any of those teams to under 24 points.  Our offense needs to take the lead and set the tone moving forward.

Since 2021, the Bills are 7-13 in games decided by 7 points or less.  Slowing the offense down is not the answer as we are not good in close games.  Neither is dying a slow death on defense and letting other team dink and dunk us to death.  It’d be better to play a more aggressive style defense that might give up some big plays but also might take the ball away more.

To everyone saying injuries don't matter, well, why play our starters all game?  We should be making line-changes like in hockey.  Our backup QB should be taking half the snaps to keep Allen fresh.  Does all this sound silly?  Yes!  Because backups usually aren't as good as starters.  To claim our injuries are not a problem, or not a factor, is just blatently stupid.

 

Having said that, yes, there are more problems here then just injuries.  The offense is unoriginal, uninspired, unable to adapt and now figured out by the rest of the league.

 

Anyone that thinks all the Bills' woes are completely the fault of only one of the two things listed above needs to pay closer attention.
